WATAMI, PAVILION KL

April 25, 2012 by StrawberrY Gal

Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant is one of the most established restaurant chains and the restaurant itself is having an outlet itself at Pavilion and another will be at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre which provides us with the authentic Japanese Dining experience. Watami had opened over 600 outlets in Japan, China, Singapore & Taiwan and here comes Malaysia.

Watami is the original creator of the “Ishokuya” dining concept in Japan, one that features the delights of modern Japanese cuisine, which include Watami’s original dishes and signature beverages. Coupled with their exceptional high standards of service, they aim to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for their guests. We are lucky to be invited to review some of the best seller in Watami, Pavilion today.

The meal starts with the Watami Salad (和民沙拉) which is where the greens are being done with the crispy greens and added with the red onions, corns, cherry tomatoes, broccoli florets, shredded cucumber, shrimps, teriyaki chicke, nori, flying roe as well as the fried wanton tossed with the Tuna mayo and Sesame cream dressing. The texture of the salad is well made with freshness.
Price: RM 19.90

We also tried the AnagoTempura Maki (星鳗鱼天妇罗卷) which is giving us another creative change. The Maki is well made which change the Unagi sushi style to the deep fried style which will be the Unagi Tempura. It is indeed a creative change where the taste is good too.
Price: RM 18.90

– Before Added the Egg-

– After Added the Egg-

Not to forget is the Chicken Katsu Tamago Toji which is where the chicken cutlet is being added with the scrambled egg sauce. The chicken katsu with the tender chicken meat is indeed a great one to try with the egg with it.
Price: RM 17.90

Scallops lovers would definitely love ths which it is another Watami signature. We had a try of their signature dish which is the Hotate Butter Yaki (牛油焗扇贝) where the oven-baked scallops are being serced together with the shimeji mushrooms on sizzling hot plate, topped with butter. The scallops are well made with the crispiness and the chewy dish to come with it.
Price: RM14.90

We also being served with the Wafu Pizza which is one of our favorites. The Wafu Pizza is served with the thin crust and the pizza is being topped with the teriyaki chicken, mayonnaise and nage negi (Japanese Onions)
Price: RM 17.90

What next, we are being served with the Sukiyaki which is the Japanese style hotpot which is where it is served with a variety of ingridients in it. In Watami, the sukiyaki is being served with slices of beef, nage negi, tofu, enoki mushrooms, carrots, garland chrysanthemum leaves and cabbage in sukiyaki brooth.
Price: RM 26.90

Another speciality which I love the most is the Gomoku Kamameshi (五目釜飯) which is where the traditional steel pot of rice is being cooked at the tableside with bonito, carrot, shimeiji mushrooms, tofupouches, root vegetables and topped with salmon, shrimp, scallops, chicken and flying fish roes in broth. The meal takes 20 minutes to cook and it is one of the signature items. Great one and is indeed my favorite one too.
