HAINANESE HEAVENLICIOUS AT UTARA COFFEE HOUSE, HOTEL ARMADA

February 24, 2012 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review 2 Comments

The Hainanese Food is becoming a hit in Malaysia. There are many places which offers Hainanese Cuisine and here I am in Hotel Armada to try out their Hainanese meal. Chef Chew who is a Hainanese himself have won numerous competation and having over 30 years of experience serves authentic Hainanese Cuisine. The Hainanese Cuisine from Chef Chew is indeed the secret recipe from his family and he learned from his grandmother. In the Utara Ciffee House, they serves the variety choices of Hainanese Dishes where you can hop there to get a try.

We also tried the Fried Mee Hailam which is the yellow noodles cooked in thick and dark gravy from a combination of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and dark soy sauce. The noodles are being cooked together with the fine minced garlics and shallots and it is being served with the choices of chicken meat with it.
Price: RM 18.00++

The Hainanese Chicken Rice is really authentic. The Hainanese Chicken Rice is Chef’s Signature Dish where the chicken rice comes with the simmered chicken. The rice is really very fragrant and the taste of the rice is really nice where we can ask for another plate of rice. The chicken is well prepared with the correct heating technique and the precise cooling-off method to create the smooth chicken texture.

Hainanese Brasied Lamb Chop which is one of the speciality of Chef Chew. The Hainanese Braised Lamb is well prepared with the chef’s speciality sauce. The lamb is being cooked in slow fire till the lamb meat is tender. The meat is very juicy and it is well prepared with the chef’s signature sauce with it.
Price: RM 46.00++

Next, will be the Hainanese Chicken Chop. The Chicken is being deep fried till golden brown and it is being served in and generous amount of gravy. The sides include boiled green peas, a cut of fresh tomato, and some onions to complete the garnish. It is also well placed in the table with the nice sauce. Simply yummy~licious!.
Price: RM 24.00++

– The Beautiful Made Pie-

– The Delighting Gravy in Chicken Pie-

Last but not least, we tried the Hainanese Chicken Pie which is specially made. The hainanese Chicken pie is where the tiny cute bowl is being inserted with the stew chicken with the delicious gravy and some potatoes and carrot inside. The outside is cover with the crispy crust and the taste is very nice and authentic. The combination was great and the chicken meat is very nice and being absord with all the gravy taste.
Price: RM 20.00++
