The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur x Rizman Ruzaini: The Flower Society Afternoon Tea; Where Culinary Meets Couture

July 16, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur proudly unveils The Flower Society Afternoon Tea – a limited-edition collaboration with celebrated Malaysian fashion house Rizman Ruzaini. This exclusive offering is a celebration of elegance, artistry and the enduring bonds between generations of women, reimagined through the lens of culinary and couture.

At The House of Astor, ritual is an artform and nobody embodies that spirit more than Caroline Astor. Known for her famed salons, she curated gatherings of New York’s elite “Four Hundred” – a list as exclusive as it was refined. These salons were not only spaces of society but also symbols of culture, beauty and connection.

Central to her world was the Astor Garden, where gatherings bloomed with elegance and conversation flourished amid curated florals. Today, that garden becomes the muse for a new expression of ritual and refinement.

A Dialogue Between Fashion and Flavor

At the heart of this collaboration is a collection of floral motifs drawn from the Astor Garden, long associated with femininity, transformation, and grace. Interpreted through the culinary craftsmanship of The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, these motifs bloom into an elegant Afternoon Tea ritual that bridges the worlds of fashion and flavor.

Each floral muse – Orchid, Rose, Dahlia, Camellia, Lavender, and Hydrangea, serves as the narrative thread linking culinary to couture. Every course carries forward the spirit, structure and symbolism of each flower. Held within The Drawing Room, this seasonal limited-edition experience reimagines the legacy of Caroline Astor’s afternoon salons, offering a modern tribute to her love of curated beauty, thoughtful hosting, and generational connection.

Crafted by Executive Chef Norazizi Taslim and Pastry Chef Azizul, the menu unfolds as a series of refined courses. Delicate textures, sculptural beauty, and botanical notes bloom across the handcrafted pastries, echoing the silhouettes and symbolism of each couture piece.

Enhancing the tradition is a custom-designed furoshiki scarf gracefully wrapping the first course, a gesture of thoughtful gifting that reflects the Art of Gifting ritual. The journey continues with an ode to the garden in full bloom before guests are invited into a playful and interactive interlude: a handcrafted cookie puzzle printed with bespoke motif. Guests are encouraged to assemble and savor each piece, engaging in a moment of whimsy and wonder before the ritual concludes with exquisite floral pastries and warm, buttery scones.

More than a menu, it is a ritual to be experienced. A moment to linger, to connect, and to celebrate the timeless elegance passed from one generation of women to the next.

A Tribute to A Signature Service

At St. Regis, service is not simply delivered. It is curated with intention, anticipation and grace. Since the early days of The House of Astor, the St. Regis Butler has stood as an icon of discretion, refinement and personal care – a tradition that continues today as part of our brand’s legacy.

To honor this legacy, The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur has partnered with Rizman Ruzaini to design custom couture uniforms for our butlers, marking a bold evolution in how we wear our values. Tailored with precision and artistry, each uniform reflects a new standard of modern luxury, where even the smallest detail carries meaning. Elegant, structure and adorned with luxury, the uniforms bridge fashion with function; paying homage to the legacy of timeless service while introducing a fresh sartorial chapter for the next generation of St. Regis Butlers.

Just as Caroline Astor’s salons were defined by grace and attention to detail, so too is every moment guided by a St. Regis Butler, now dressed in couture that reflects the service they so effortlessly embody.

A Couture Collection Extending The Story Beyond The Table

The Flower Society blossoms from a creative synergy between The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur and Rizman Ruzaini, a collaboration that moves beyond inspiration to become a true co-creation. United by a deep respect for artistry and detail, both houses worked hand in hand to bring to life a bespoke couture collection that mirrors the elegance found in the afternoon tea ritual.

Renowned for their red-carpet glamour, precise tailoring and dramatic silhouettes, Rizman Ruzaini brings their couture mastery to this partnership – reinterpreting the floral muses into six exquisite gowns. Each piece, created in collaboration with St. Regis, draws from the flowers that inspired the tea’s visual presentation.

What emerged from this creative dialogue is a made-to-measure mother-daughter collection, designed not only as garments but as expressions of beauty. Soft layers, hand-beaded florals and sculptural lines evoke a sense of occasion, offering a modern heirloom to be shared between women across ages.

This is not simply a fashion collection – it is a continuation of the narrative that begins at the table and carries through into the personal realm. Just as Afternoon Tea invites pause and connection, these gowns invite presence to mark a moment, a bond, a memory.

Private fittings for the collection are available by appointment at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, offering guests a rare opportunity to experience couture in an intimate, bespoke setting – where every gown is tailored to the women and woven with meaning.

Botanical Scarves as Wearable Heirlooms

As an extension of the narrative, The Scarf Collection invites guests to take home a piece of the experience—not as a souvenir, but as a statement of timeless style. Designed in collaboration with Rizman Ruzaini, this limited-edition series transforms the floral motifs of the couture gowns into luxurious silk scarves, each a canvas of refined botanical elegance.

Far more than accessories, these scarves are wearable works of art. Meticulously crafted to reflect the detail, movement and femininity of the gowns they’re inspired by. Each design carries the essence of its muse whether the bold romance of the Rose, or the featherlight charm of the Lavender, making every scarf a poetic echo of its couture counterpart.

With limited quantities available, each scarf is a collectible, a keepsake, and a conversation piece. Whether styled as a headscarf, framed as art, or gifted as a symbol of grace, it embodies the same commitment to craftsmanship, story and timeless femininity that defines the collaboration. Offered exclusively at The Drawing Room Boutique, this collection is a way to carry the legacy of The Flower Society into your everyday life.

From culinary to couture, The Flower Society is a poetic expression of refinement, ritual and legacy – a meeting of minds between two houses devoted to craftsmanship and timeless elegance. More than a collaboration, it is a living tableau where tradition is transformed, femininity is exalted, and every detail whispers of beauty, meaning and grace.

This season, Afternoon tea does more than bloom. It becomes a moment suspended in time, created to be savored, shared, and remembered.
