MARUFUKU, JAYA ONE

November 17, 2011 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review 1 Comment

Have you heard of Marufuku? The restaurant features a simple design with a Japanese feel. This udon specialty shop offers a casual Japanese dining experience for as low as RM6. A serving of udon comes in either a cold or hot broth. Signature dishes include the House Special Udon, Original Soup Udon, Chili Udon and other special sauce udons like Sesame Salada Udon and Karee Udon.
This time our visit there we ordered the udons as it is their specialties there

Kitsune Udon which is served with an option of cold or hot soup , in a fish based broth and topped with aburaage ( sweetened fried tofu), green vegetables and chopped spring onions. The meal is recommended eaten with a sprinkling of shicimi powder.
Taste: 4/5
Price: RM 7.00

Next we ordered the house special udon which is served with either hot or cold, topped with half- boiled egg and chopped spring onions in a delicate Japanese Soy Sauce.
Taste: 4/5
Price: RM 6.00

I absolutely love the food here and I have been going there every time I am at JavaOne as I am a super loyal fan of their waffles & Don dishes. But recently they have been having some serious pest problems. In another country they would be forced to close down! I went into the toilet once and saw 20 baby cockroaches in their sink! I spoke to the manager and I thought it was sorted out, but tonight I went there again and saw a baby cockroach under my table and another group of customers had a cockroach on their table. I was quite upset and told the manager again, that they really need to solve this problem. She defiantly said that they are already spraying pesticides every month. So, don’t plan to solve the problem? I asked, she repeated again she was already spraying repellents. I think their business is too good for them to care of this matter, which is terrible!
I hope I can go back there again when they have decided to care about the cleanliness of their restaurant.

So I am writing this in hopes something will be done through public knowledge, since the manager is indifferent about it.

Sad day for a food lover & loyal customer to make such a decision. But it had to be done.
