Sentul Ah Yap Charcoal Hokkien Mee Restaurant @ PJ Uptown

January 28, 2010 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review 2 Comments

Ah Yip Hokkien Mee is a place where you can find the chocoal cooked Hokkein Mee. From what I understand, there is a distinct difference between gas cooked hokkien mee and charcoal cooked hokkien mee. Correct me if I’m wrong, charcoal cooked hokkien mee tends to taste nicer.

Aside ordering the Hokkien Mee, we also ordered the fried tang hoon which the taste is also quite delighting. Everything is just as nice as usual and very delighting.

The food here is not bad and taste wise can be said is quite delighting. Price was reasonable and service was okay.
Taste:
Fried Tang Hoon: 3/5
Charcoal Hokkien Mee: 4/5

Price:
Fried Tang Hoon: RM 6.00
Charcoal Hokkien Mee: RM 6.00

Hi, there is one shop that I know is using gas to fry noodle but taste good.Last time they use charcoal because there are no gas,but it does not mean that charcoal cooked noodles is better than gas cooked. The shop is located in Jalan Gombak 4 miles now its the third generation since 1940. If you want you want to try the noodles call this number 0162282852
