PRIVATE ROOM @ TTDI KL : KL FIRST SPEAKEASY WINE BAR

June 2, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

KL’s first speakeasy-style bar that comes to our notice where the bar brings is with the great ambiance. Private Room was conceived by a team of young bankers, entrepreneurs and sommeliers where they give you an intimate space for you and your friends. Having the variety version of wine all the way from South Africa, Spain or France, the price comes simply affordable.

Hunt your way there, no signage but you can find the yellow door (on the same street as DC Restaurant & Bowery Petit) leading up to the shop. They brings you with the great excitement and enjoy your night there. Walk in is recommended but early reservation is recommended. For each confirmed booking, you will be given a passcode and you need to input upon arriving at the front door of the Private Room.
The bar currently carries more than 200 labels from all over the world with a focus on less common labels such as Barista, Porcupine Ridge and The Guilty.  They have quite a variety of wine that they have but it is always good to seek for recommendation from the expert in Private Room. They are always happy to recommend a bottle or two according to your preference.

Retemed Demeter (RM 45)
One of the highly recommended cocktails here in Private Room . Silicon Blood Orange, Pink Grapefruit together with the NZ Sauvignon Blanc filling up the wine glass with a twist of Sencha.

Mocking Mistress (RM43)
I love the Mocking Mistress where it brings us a refreshing taste from the combination of the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, London Gin, Cucumber Syrup, Mint, Lime with smooth, sweet taste of coconut from Malibu rum blending it.
While enjoying your wine, if you want to have some snacks to pair together. They have quite a variety choice snacks to go with.

Cod fish  &Calamari Rings
The lovely cod fish is well deep fried till perfection, leaving you with the crispy bites and the chewy calamari rings with it. Simply good.

Chicken Karaage
The tender-licious chicken well deep fried till perfection, leaving you with the moist juicy texture. I love the crispy bites of the chicken itself with the juicy moist texture.

Pork Skewer
The pork skewer were good too. Well marinated till perfection with the tenderlicious meat

Iberico Collar
One of my favorites of the night. Served on top of bed of refreshing salad, the Pork Collar was indeed a good one topped with the olive oil and balsamic dressing. The dish is simply delicious where we wish to have another plate of it.

We ends with the  Mud House Claim 431 Pinot Noir 2014 ( Central Otago, New Zealand) . An affordable bottle of wine, with give a refreshing sweet note of dark cherry in it and a mild sweet finish.
It was indeed a great experience for the night and thanks to Keith for the great invitation and Danny Tai , the second runner of Malaysia Best Sommelier Competition 2014. We had learned a lot during the session and will hope to meet them again soon.
