THE SHANGHAINESE TEMPTATIONS AT SHANGHAI RESTAURANT, JW MARIOTT HOTEL

September 17, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

SHANGHAI LI YEN

JW Marriott’s lush Shanghai Restaurant offers a vast variety of the Shanghainese Dishes which we could ever resist in their menu. The elegant restaurant with the tips of beautiful decoration in the Shanghai Restaurant had impress me when I had myself stepped into the restaurant. We were greeted with the professional waitress with a smile, we were lead to the private room. While flipping the menu, we were blurred and pretty confused where they have so much of lovely dishes which captured our taste buds. The waitress was so kind to recommend us some of the signatures to try off.

Traditional Cheng Kong Ham (镇江肴肉)
Served chilled, the Traditional Cheng Kong Ham (镇江肴肉) is just superb. The ham itself is being cooked and later it is being chilled in the before it is served. Even it is cold, the texture o the cheng kong ham is not too hard but leaves a fragrant taste of the ham with it.
Price: RM 26.00

Steamed Shanghainese Meat Dumplings

Steamed Shanghainese Meat Dumplings is one of their signatures. With the 32 folds of the shanghai meat dumpling, the shanghainese meat is sinfully delicious as it is with the sweet soup which is stock inside with the minced meat. Perfectly done with the thin texture of the skin.
Price: RM 33 ( 10 pc)

Deep fried French Goose liver
Deep fried French Goose liver wrapped in cod is sinfully delicious. Well deep fried till golden brown, the delicious flavors which ooze from the French Goose Liver is just perfectly done. I could not hesitate to grab more of them,
Price: RM 22/pc

Japanese cucumber with minced garlic and soy sauce
Japanese cucumber with minced garlic and soy sauce is amazingly good. The Japanese cucumber is being sliced thinly and it is then being marinated together with the garlic and soy sauce. The fancy little delicious dishes are superbly made with the sweet and soury combination which had touched my heart.
Price: RM 20.00

Steamed Cheong Fan with duck meat
Steamed Cheong Fan with duck meat wrapped with rice paper give us a smooth texture of the cheong fan. The duck meat in the middle made a good mix where the flavours of the duck meat is well infused into the cheong fan creating a tasty and appetizing taste of it.
Price: RM 14.00

The Braised Pork with brown sauce and mini buns
The Braised Pork with brown sauce and mini buns is my favorite. The three layer pork is amazingly good where it is well braised with the sauce. The sauce is amazingly good with the touch of the sweet and light wine taste. Not too oily, the braised pork is just nice as it is with the texture.
Price: RM 14.00/each

Deep fried prawns with salted egg yolk and vegetable

The fresh prawns here is amazingly good. With the added chilly sauce with it, the prawns is just as perfect as it is. I love the sweet and soury sauce which is added to the prawns and the freshness of the prawns is a umph.
Price: RM 18/ person

If you prefer to have Deep fried prawns with salted egg yolk and vegetable, the combination of it is just good as it is. Well breadcrumb, the prawns is crispy at the outside and juicy in the inside is sinfully good.
Price: RM 18/ person

fried rice with ham and truffle oil
We also ended with the fried rice with ham and truffle oil. It is just as delicious where each mouthful of the rice is filledwith the fragrance of the truffle oil.
Price: RM 58/plate; RM 28/bowl

pan fried meat buns
If you love to get some buns, the pan fried meat buns is good one to end the meal. The little buns are freshly made with the scrumptious ingridients with it which had made us all satisfied throughout the meals.
