SHIFEN: I LOVE THE SOUND OF THE WATERFALLS

July 2, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

My day 3 journey is to the Shifen, we started our trip as usual starts at 9 am and the driver picked us up and we headed to Shifen (十分). The Shifen town is where we are heading too for this round and I am buying some cakes from the JE Bakery Shop for some delights to have when we are in the car.

– Our breakfast-

The cakes there is simply differnt from the one in Malaysia as the cakes are more filling and the texture is dry.

We had our journey about an hour and we reach Shifen town. During the journey, we took some pictures along the way. We had reach the town of Shifen and we are heading now to the beautiful waterfalls and more.

Shifen, which means there used to be ten families working together to build the home. Shifen Waterfall locates in Ping River (Pingsi) Township in Taipei County. It locates in the Shifen stop of the Ping River (Pingsi) railroad and the bus stop of Dahua at the upper part of the waterfalls in Keelung River. It is a great waterfall with the big force of the current vast. It is the greatest screen curtain style waterfall in Taiwan. The pond underneath the waterfall is very deep. The waterfall is like hundreds of soldiers and millions of horses running down. This gives you the feeling of a blanket of white silk satin falling into a great wide deep pond. The water of the waterfall forms hydrosphere flowing above the waterfall. When the sun shines, the reflection forms a rainbow showing the clear sky with the beautiful rainbow. That is why it has the name of rainbow pond.

We had started our journey now where we had spotted beautiful flowers along the way and there are also mini waterfall too which I could not hesitate to snap some of the pictures from all the way from small waterfalls till the big waterfalls and more.

– The mini waterfalls-

We are indeed love the mini waterfalls where the water are clear and we walked to the bridge.
The bridge is kinda long and it is well maintained. It is a bridge to connect to the PingXi Line as well as to the Shifen big waterfall there. After crossing the bridge, you may see the beautiful line where the train will pass through as well. If you are lucky you can see the train too.
– The Railway Rail-

– The Train Passing Through-

We then reach the Shifen counter where there is an entrance fees which is being charged of NTD 50 for the viewing of the scenic waterfall. It is indeed quite worth as you can see the beautiful waterfall there.
– The beautiful waterfall-

The key beauty of here is the beautiful waterfall and you may enjoy the amazing waterfall view.

Shifen waterfall (traditional Chinese:十分瀑布) is a scenic waterfall located in Pingxi District, Taiwan, on the upper reaches of the Keelung River. The falls’ total height is 20 meters (66 feet) and 40 meters in width, making it the broadest waterfall in Taiwan. It is a cascade waterfall in which the water flows in one direction and the rock is sloped in the opposite

– The beautiful view of the waterfall-
and we ended the trip here and headed to Pingxi.
