Art of Salmó Celebrates Another Year by Inspiring Malaysians to Embrace a Slower, More Joyful Way of Living

October 1, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

As everyday life becomes increasingly fast-paced, Art of Salmó is using its seventh birthday to share a simple reminder with Malaysians: slow down, savour what is in front of you, and make time for the moments that bring joy.

Rather than treating its birthday as just another brand milestone, the Malaysian-born food brand, known for specialising in premium Norwegian Fjord Trout, is celebrating with a series of thoughtfully curated experiences centred on food, connection, and everyday enjoyment. From sashimi and sushi platters to ready-to-enjoy creations, Art of Salmó has built its offering around making Norwegian Fjord Trout more approachable and convenient for Malaysians to enjoy.

Whether it is catching up over a meal, celebrating a small win, spending an evening with family or simply treating yourself after a long day, Art of Salmó believes meaningful moments do not always need a special occasion.

“Life moves so quickly that sometimes we are already thinking about the next thing before we have enjoyed what is right in front of us,” said Phyllis Teh, Co-Founder of Art of Salmó. “Our seventh birthday felt like the perfect opportunity to remind ourselves and our community to slow down once in a while, enjoy the food, enjoy the company and celebrate the moment, however simple it may be.”

Meet FUWA FUWA: A Little Reminder to Take Life a Little Slower

Giving this philosophy a personality is FUWA FUWA, Art of Salmó’s newly introduced brand mascot. Its light-hearted spirit also comes to life through a collection of everyday merchandise, including T-shirts and socks, bringing a touch of FUWA FUWA into moments beyond the dining table.

Derived from the Japanese expression “fuwa fuwa” (ふわふわ), commonly used to describe something soft, fluffy and light, the name reflects the sense of ease and everyday joy that Art of Salmó hopes to inspire.

More than a birthday mascot, FUWA FUWA represents a simple idea: life can feel a little lighter when we give ourselves permission to slow down and enjoy it. The character will continue to be part of Art of Salmó beyond its birthday, serving as a playful reminder to find joy in the everyday.

Making Good Food Part of the Moment

That same philosophy extends to what Art of Salmó puts on the table. Rather than creating something new for the sake of it, each product is thoughtfully curated around how people can enjoy it and the moments it can create.

For its birthday, Art of Salmó introduces the Loaded Sashimi Bowl, paired with three sauces for different ways to enjoy every bite, alongside its Mukbang Series, designed to turn a satisfying spread into an experience worth slowing down for and sharing.

At the heart of Art of Salmó is its signature Norwegian Fjord Trout, with its own distinctive flavour and texture. Rather than positioning it as an alternative to a more familiar fish, Art of Salmó hopes to help more Malaysians discover and appreciate Norwegian Fjord Trout in its own right.

“For us, a product should give people more than something to eat,” added Phyllis Teh. “We think about the experience around it too, the excitement when you open it, the different ways you can enjoy it, and the people you might share it with. We want to create food that gives people a reason to sit down and enjoy the moment.”

Celebrating the Moment, Together

Art of Salmó is also extending its birthday celebration to the people who have been part of its journey, inviting its community to share their own #AoSMoment, from celebrations and catch-ups to simple moments of everyday joy.

As it enters its next year, Art of Salmó hopes to continue creating food and experiences that encourage Malaysians to slow down, connect and enjoy the moments that matter.

Because sometimes, you don’t need to wait for a special occasion to celebrate the moment.
