4 Home and Kitchen Appliances That Make My Life Easier With a Four-Year-Old

July 21, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

Life with a four-year-old is filled with sweet conversations, unexpected laughter and plenty of memorable moments. It is also filled with porridge on the floor, crumbs under the dining table, sudden requests for milk and toys that seem to travel into every corner of the home.

Before becoming a parent, I never realised how much time could be spent cleaning, preparing drinks, washing children’s essentials and trying to keep the home feeling reasonably fresh.

The reality is that no appliance can completely remove the chaos of parenting. However, the right appliances can reduce the amount of time and energy spent on repetitive household tasks.

These are four home and kitchen appliances that have genuinely made my daily life easier while raising my four-year-old.

1. Hizero F300: Making Everyday Floor Messes Easier to Manage

Mealtimes with a young child can be unpredictable.

One minute, everything is going well. The next minute, there is porridge on the floor, biscuit crumbs under the chair and small pieces of food scattered around the dining area.

Cleaning these messes used to feel like a hazard of its own. It was not only about picking up the visible pieces. Wet food could spread across the floor, while crumbs somehow found their way into places I had only just cleaned.

The Hizero F300 has made dealing with these everyday situations feel much less overwhelming.

When food drops onto the floor, I can attend to the mess more quickly instead of allowing it to become another large cleaning job later in the day. This is particularly useful after breakfast and dinner, when I am already trying to manage multiple tasks at once.

For me, the biggest benefit is not simply having a cleaner floor. It is the amount of time and mental energy that I can save.

Parents are constantly making decisions and handling small responsibilities throughout the day. When an appliance makes one of those responsibilities easier, it can noticeably improve the entire household routine.

The Hizero F300 has therefore become more than just a cleaning appliance in my home. It is one of the tools that helps me recover from mealtime mess quickly and continue with the rest of the day.

2. Khind 3-Second Instant Water Boiler: Hot Water Without the Long Wait

Another appliance that I use frequently is my Khind three-second instant water boiler.

Before having an instant boiler, preparing warm or hot water usually meant filling a kettle, waiting for it to boil and then allowing the water to cool to the temperature I needed.

That process may not sound difficult, but when a child is waiting for milk or I am trying to manage several things at the same time, every extra step feels significant.

The Khind instant water boiler makes the process much more convenient because it provides different temperature selections.

The settings I find particularly useful include:

45°C for preparing milk

55°C for warm tea

92°C for coffee

100°C for boiling-hot water

The 45°C selection is especially convenient when I need suitable warm water for milk. Instead of boiling water and waiting for it to cool, I can select the temperature I need directly.

The other temperature options are helpful for the adults in the household too. I can prepare tea or coffee without having to use a separate kettle each time.

This appliance is especially valuable during rushed mornings and bedtime routines. Children rarely make requests according to a convenient schedule, so being able to prepare warm water quickly can make those moments much smoother.

It may be a relatively simple kitchen appliance, but it has become one of those items I would immediately notice if it were no longer available.

3. Hernim Baby Steriliser: One Less Manual Household Task

Although my daughter is already four years old, I still appreciate having a steriliser at home.

I use the Hernim baby steriliser for suitable bottles, pacifiers and other child-related items that require regular attention. Parents should always follow the appliance instructions and check whether each item is suitable for the selected sterilisation method.

For me, the main advantage is convenience.

Without a steriliser, keeping up with these items can become another manual process added to an already full day. Having a dedicated appliance allows me to organise the task more efficiently instead of handling everything individually.

Parenting often involves many small jobs that are almost invisible to everyone else. Washing, drying, organising and preparing children’s belongings can take up a surprising amount of time.

Anything that helps streamline those repetitive jobs can make the day feel more manageable.

The Hernim steriliser gives me one designated place to handle suitable child-related items. That helps me stay more organised and reduces the feeling that there is always one more thing waiting to be done.

4. Laurastar IZZI: More Than a Clothing Steamer

The fourth appliance that has become helpful in my household is the Laurastar IZZI

Many people may initially think of it as a  appliance for steaming clothes. I certainly use it to refresh clothing, especially when I need to deal with wrinkles quickly without setting up a full ironing station.

However, I also find it useful for steam-refreshing other suitable household items. Depending on the care instructions and material, I may use it on bedding, selected toys or plushies that are suitable for steaming. It is important to check each material’s care label and follow the manufacturer’s instructions before applying steam.

Children often carry their favourite soft toys everywhere. Plushies may travel from the bedroom to the living room, into the car and sometimes even outdoors. Being able to refresh suitable items conveniently is therefore helpful.

I also appreciate using the Laurastar IZZI on selected bedding between full washes. It does not replace proper washing, but it can be useful when I want to freshen an item as part of my regular home-care routine.

Individually, these may seem like small conveniences. Together, they reduce the number of steps I need to complete throughout the day.

That gives me more time and patience for the part of motherhood that matters most: being present with my child.

Life with a four-year-old will probably never be perfectly tidy or predictable—and perhaps it is not meant to be. The goal is not to create a flawless home. It is to find practical ways to make everyday life feel lighter, calmer and more manageable.
