Midea Sets New Malaysia Book of Records Milestone with the Simultaneous Launch of FIRST 18 Midea Brand Stores Nationwide

December 5, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Midea Malaysia today marked a key milestone with the simultaneous launch of 18 Midea brand stores across the country, a first-of-its-kind national rollout recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for “Most Electrical Appliance Outlets Launching In An Event.”

The nationwide launch comprises 15 new Midea brand stores, 2 new Midea Pro-Shops, and 1 Kuala Lumpur showroom featuring a refreshed signboard, all collectively contributing to this record-setting achievement. The event underscores Midea’s accelerated expansion in Malaysia, transforming its physical retail footprint from zero to 18 stores in a single rollout.

“Launching 18 brand stores simultaneously is more than an expansion – it transforms how customers engage with Midea. With more touchpoints across the country, Malaysians can now experience our smart home solutions in person, consult directly with our specialists, and access reliable after-sales support closer to home. This nationwide rollout reflects the strong momentum we’ve built over the past few years and positions Midea to compete even more effectively in Malaysia’s fast-growing home appliance market. It also strengthens the trust and convenience we aim to deliver as Malaysia’s smart home partner of choice,” said Mark Tam, Managing Director of Midea Malaysia.

“At the same time, we are proud to introduce the SMART MASTER series, which reflects our vision of bringing intelligent, user-centric technologies into everyday homes. By combining AI-powered features with our expanding retail footprint, we aim to deliver a more seamless, connected, and convenient experience for all our customers.”

Malaysia Book of Records Recognition for Nationwide Simultaneous Launch

Hosted simultaneously across Malaysia, the event – officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records, featured a nationwide synced countdown, during which all 18 stores unveiled their storefront signboards at the exact same moment. The reveal was broadcast live across all locations including on Midea Malaysia’s Facebook page, symbolising the unity of Midea’s expanding retail network.

The event opened with an on-screen introduction of all 18 brand store owners, followed by a video presentation previewing Midea’s new SMART MASTER series. Mark Tam then delivered his keynote address, after which plaque presentations were carried out for the 17 brand stores outside Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony also included the official presentation of the Malaysia Book of Records certificate to commemorate the brand’s achievement.

Introducing SMART MASTER: AI-Driven Technologies Designed for Modern Living

As part of the launch, Midea introduced the SMART MASTER product series to the Malaysian market, giving attendees a first look at how the brand is elevating the connected home experience.

SMART MASTER represents a suite of intelligent technologies embedded across Midea’s appliance range, designed to understand, adjust, and respond intelligently to user needs through AI and smart sensors.

To complement the SMART MASTER showcase, Midea also presented a broader lineup of its latest home innovation solutions across categories, including:

• Avigator series

• Insta-Fit Master series

• Laundry Suite

• L-Shaped Cooker Hood MCH-90XS38 (RFID)

• Built-In Gas Hob (MGH-2590GL (RFID))

• Robotic Vacuum Cleaner V12

• Bladeless Fan

Together, these innovations reflect Midea’s mission to elevate smart living through a fully connected ecosystem of user-centric technologies. From IoT-enabled appliances linked through the SmartHome app, to RFID and Wi-Fi connectivity that allows seamless remote operation and automation, Midea continues to advance a home environment that adapts intuitively to users’ daily needs.

This ecosystem is further strengthened by the brand’s emphasis on energy-efficient engineering through appliances designed to optimise long-term energy consumption. By integrating AI-driven intelligence with real-time sensing and cross-device coordination, Midea aims to deliver a truly cohesive, intelligent and effortless smart home experience for Malaysian households.

Strengthening Midea’s Presence in Malaysia

This nationwide expansion signals Midea’s dedication to offering an improved customer experience through modern retail spaces aligned with its new corporate identity, while strengthening product accessibility across more regions in Malaysia. With the growing demand for connected living solutions, Midea aims to empower more households to adopt intelligent home technologies through both its expanding retail footprint and its new generation of AI-powered appliances.

With this milestone, Midea continues to solidify its position as one of the fastest-growing home appliance brands in Malaysia.

Looking ahead to 2026, Midea is targeting a strong growth trajectory of approximately 20%, driven by the rising demand for energy-efficient and smart-home solutions in the local market. The brand will continue expanding and upgrading its Brand Store network, strengthening dealer partnerships, and enhancing after-sales service nationwide. Backed by a robust 2026 product roadmap and a deeper focus on innovation and customer experience, Midea is well-positioned to deliver sustained growth and reinforce its leadership in Malaysia’s home appliances sector.
