Planta from the BlueBand family Unveils a Improved Formula with Omega 3 & 6, and 10 Vitamins

October 10, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Trusted by families across 50+ countries across the world, Planta from the BlueBand family reveals its brand-new formula. The spread, loved by generations of Malaysians, is now added with Omega 3 and 6, along with 10 essential vitamins to grow active and happy kids.

This improved formula enhances the taste and aroma of home-cooked dishes while providing kids and families with added nutrition – without having to craft complex meal plans, making it suitable for young children needing vital nutrients for growth, to adults looking for a great start to their day.

In addition to its improved formula, Planta from the BlueBand family is also reinforcing its commitment to nutrition beyond the kitchen through its Good Breakfast Programme. The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Education in the State of Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan, aims to educate schoolchildren across Malaysia on the importance of developing healthy breakfast eating habits.

Having trained over 150 teachers as partners from 92 schools nationwide, this program ensures that teachers are equipped to educate both children and parents on the importance of nutritious breakfast for promoting optimal growth and development.  This initiative is expected to positively impact more than 100,000 school children this year, ensuring they receive the nutritional education necessary to support healthier breakfast habits.

According to a study published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 32% of Malaysian children aged 6 to 12 years reported skipping breakfast at least once a week. Additionally, the International e-Journal of Science, Medicine and Education highlighted that Omega-3 and Omega-6 intake among Malaysians is low and far from optimal. Compounding these, nutritious breakfasts are vital for children, enhancing alertness and motivation for learning while improving academic performance and overall health. The National Institute of Health indicates that a healthy breakfast significantly boosts memory and attention, reducing cognitive deficits. Furthermore, regular consumption of nutritious meals is linked to lower obesity rates and higher physical activity levels, promoting a healthier lifestyle. This is especially important as children are more vulnerable to the effects of overnight fasting, making breakfast crucial for their problem-solving abilities and overall cognitive function.

“Nutrition and taste to grow active and happy kids have always been at the heart of BlueBand’s mission,” said Julie Choi, Head of Marketing for South East Asia & Far East Asia at Flora Food Group. “Since our journey began in 1923 as one of the first brands to offer tasty and nutritious spreads, our commitment to supporting families in their pursuit of better health has remained steadfast. With our improved formula and through Blue Band’s Good Breakfast Programme, we are proud to help Malaysian families take a step closer to achieving a more balanced, nutritious lifestyle. We especially hope that our work in schools nationwide will guide children towards better eating habits and help address imbalances in their diets.”

With its improved formula, Planta from the BlueBand family continues to uphold its commitment to offering Malaysians quality spreads that blend great taste with good nutrition. Whether you’re preparing family favourites or experimenting with new recipes, Planta from the BlueBand family is the versatile ingredient that brings flavour and goodness to every meal. Look out for the improved Planta from the BlueBand family on shelves nationwide.
