Imperial Chakri Palace @ KLCC: A Royal Culinary Experience in the heart of KL

October 7, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Imperial Chakri Palace has long been a cherished destination for our family whenever we crave the exquisite flavours of Thai cuisine. Nestled within the premium shopping mall, KLCC, this renowned restaurant offers a regal dining experience, serving some of the finest Thai dishes in town that truly make you feel like royalty.

With a team of award-winning Thai chefs, including the head chef who hails from the Royal Palace, every dish is crafted with the utmost care and authenticity. What makes this restaurant stand out is its commitment to healthy, natural ingredients—no MSG, no artificial colouring, no preservatives, and all cooked with low-cholesterol oil, ensuring a guilt-free indulgence.

Additionally, the interior of Imperial Chakri Palace is elegantly designed, offering a luxurious dining ambiance that perfectly complements the exquisite cuisine. For those looking to host special events or enjoy a more intimate dining experience, the restaurant features two beautifully appointed private rooms. The VIP room, in particular, can accommodate up to 30 guests, making it an ideal setting for family gatherings, corporate events, or private celebrations.

Tom Yam in Coconut ( Tom Yam Nai Mapraw Aon)  ( Half King Prawn : RM 44.90 | Seafood: RM 39.90)

The Tom Yam, available with your choice of king prawn or seafood, is an absolute must-try. Served in a coconut, this rich and flavorful soup delivers a perfect balance of spicy and sour notes, making it a personal favorite. Every slurp is packed with deep flavors, offering an authentic taste of Thailand’s famous soup.

Imperial Golden Crab Shell With Minced Meat ( Poo Ja)

The golden crab shell is generously stuffed with a savory mixture of minced chicken, fresh crab meat, and egg yolk, creating a delightful balance of flavors and textures. Each bite offers a rich and flavorful experience that’s simply irresistible. The combination of tender meat and the crispy outer shell is a sensory treat that will make you fall in love at first bite. It’s a must-try for anyone looking to indulge in a luxurious and delicious Thai specialty!

Premium Crab Ball in Yellow Curry (Gang Poo Bai Chapoo) (RM 29.90)

A dish you simply cannot miss is the Premium Crab Ball in Yellow Curry. These premium crab meatballs are fried to golden perfection, offering a crispy outer layer with tender, flavorful crab inside. The dish is then served with a rich and fragrant Thai yellow curry, creating a truly luxurious combination of flavors.

Signature Kodok Leaves Roll ( Mieng Kam) ( RM 41.50)

Mieng Kam is a traditional Thai appetizer that delivers an explosion of flavors and textures. The dish features seven ingredients—peanut, baked shredded coconut, chili padi, diced onions, diced lime, diced ginger, sun-dried shrimp, and shrimp paste sauce—served on kaduk leaves. Simply wrap these ingredients in the leaf, pop it into your mouth, and enjoy the burst of flavors that this healthy appetizer offers.

Thai Mango Salad with Catfish (Yam Soam Roam Kub Pla Duk Foo ) (RM 23.90)

Another appetizer that’s a must-try is Yam Soam Roam Kub Pla Duk Foo, a delightful salad that combines shredded mango, papaya, cashew nuts, bean sprouts, tomatoes, and chili padi. They also added with catfish which added a crunch in it. We love the tangy, sweet, and spicy flavors come together making it a refreshing, and with the light kick of spiciness

Chakri Tom Yam (Gung Mar Num) (RM 39.90)

For those who love a good tom yam, the Chakri Tom Yam Gung Mar Num is a clear soup that doesn’t skimp on flavor. Spicy and sour, it’s brimming with king prawns, squid, and mushrooms, making it both hearty and appetizing. It’s the kind of soup that keeps you coming back for more, right until the last drop.

Traditional Pandan Chicken (Gai How Bai Tuey) (  RM 33.90)

One of the restaurant’s standout dishes, Gai How Bai Tuey, features tender chicken marinated in Thai spices and wrapped in fragrant pandan leaves. The result is a juicy, flavorful chicken that’s bursting with aroma. While dipping it in Thai chili sauce adds an extra kick, the chicken is so well-seasoned that it’s delicious on its own.

Steamed Seabass with Lime and Chili (Pla Kneung Neung Ma Now) (RM 99.80)

Steamed fish can often carry an unwanted fishy smell, but not at Chakri. Their Pla Kneung Ma Now is a fresh, soft, and fleshy fish served in a zingy lime, garlic, and chili sauce. The perfectly balanced flavors of this dish make it refreshing and incredibly appetizing.

Pineapple Fried Rice (Khow Ob Sapparod) (Standard : RM 26.90| Large : RM 66.90)

The Pineapple Fried Rice at Chakri is as flavorful as it is colorful, loaded with a variety of ingredients such as prawns, cashew nuts, raisins, corn, carrots, beans, and, of course, fresh pineapple. Each bite offers a delightful medley of sweet, savory, and crunchy elements, making it a crowd-pleaser.

Chakri Red Ruby Water Chessnut (Ai Tim Tab Tum Krob) (RM 19.90)

No Thai meal is complete without dessert, and the Ai Tim Tab Tum Krob is a classic that Chakri does exceptionally well. Served in a fresh coconut shell, this dish features red ruby water chestnut, sago, jackfruit, vanilla ice cream, and coconut milk. It’s a wonderfully refreshing and creamy dessert that balances sweetness with delightful textures.

Mango Sticky Rice ( Khow Neow Ma Moung) (RM 19.90)

Another dessert not to be missed is the Mango Sticky Rice. The sticky rice is sweetened with coconut milk and paired with fresh, juicy mango slices. The rice is soft and melts in your mouth, while the mango adds a fresh, tropical twist—one of the best versions of this classic dessert we’ve ever had.

Whether you’re in the mood for a royal Thai feast or a casual yet flavorful dining experience, Imperial Chakri Palace offers an unforgettable journey through authentic Thai cuisine, right in the heart of KLCC.
