Gangnam88 @ Solaris Mont Kiara: Your Authentic Korean Gastronomic Haven in Malaysia

October 7, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

If you’ve ever felt a longing for the bustling streets of Seoul, craving the authentic flavors of Korean cuisine, then Gangnam88 might just be your gastronomic haven in Malaysia. With a brand that has been captivating food enthusiasts since 2012, Gangnam88’s humble beginnings at Solaris Mont Kiara have now evolved into a recognized name, synonymous with delicious and genuine Korean fare.

The establishment’s ambiance reflects the very essence of its inspiration – the vibrant district of Gangnam in Seoul. A district that combines the tradition of Korea with the modern rhythm of pop culture, and Gangnam88 encapsulates this spirit brilliantly, both in its decor and in its menu.

While many restaurants might offer Korean dishes, Gangnam88 provides a genuine Korean experience. Every dish on their extensive menu, from the crispy Dong Gran Teng, savory Seaweed, delectable Kimbap, tangy Water Kimchi, to the robust flavors of Jokbal and the stir-fried goodness of Japchee, is a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Korea.

Among the many treasures on the menu, the Godangwa Modori comes highly recommended. While I won’t give away the magic of what this dish entails (some things are best experienced first-hand), rest assured, it’s a flavor journey that transports you straight to the heart of Seoul with every bite.

Godangwa Modori (RM 25)

The saba fish, with its distinct flavor profile, exudes freshness. Perfectly cooked, its flesh is succulent, flaking off with the slightest touch, yet retaining a slight firmness that’s pleasing to the palate. Love it so much.

Gangnam Fried Chicken

Upon the first glance, the Gangnam Fried Chicken looks like a meticulously prepared dish, with a golden-brown hue and a glaze that promises a play of flavors. A closer inspection reveals the chicken’s crispy exterior, hinting at the juiciness within.

A single bite into the chicken is all it takes to be transported straight to the bustling streets of Seoul. The meat is tender and juicy, seasoned to perfection. While it doesn’t set your mouth on fire, the flavor profile is complex, with a hint of sweetness, a touch of tang, and the right amount of saltiness.

Chicken Kimchi Tteoboki Pizza ( RM 58.60)

At first sight, the Chicken Kimchi Tteoboki Pizza mirrors the quintessential cheesy delight that has captivated palates worldwide. The crispy fried chicken pieces scattered generously add to its visual allure. As you sink your teeth in, you’re met with a cascade of flavours. The molten cheese provides a creamy counterpoint to the crunch of the crust. But just as you’re settling into this familiar taste, the tteoboki, or Korean rice cakes, introduce a delightful chewy twist. And inside the kimchi brings you iwth the signature light spiciness and it just makes a good combination with the cheese making the dish savoury goodness.

Naeng Myeon Mix Style

This is thecold noodles which is served with the choice of the meat you want. They have 3 choices of Galbi where they have chicken galbi, pork galbi and beef galbi. The dish comes impressively good and bring sme with the unique experience. As you dig in, the first sensation is the refreshing coldness of the noodles, a cool embrace that is surprisingly comforting. The subtle, earthy flavors of the buckwheat intertwine seamlessly with the accompanying icy broth. It is perfectly matched with their pork galbi ahatdds a delightful chewiness and tender meat.

Kimchi Fried Rice

The Kimchi Fried Rice is indeed a comfort dish to go for. As you take the first bite, the bold tangy and spicy notes of kimchi take center stage. This fermented cabbage, a cornerstone of Korean cuisine, infuses the rice with its unique blend of flavors – a mix of sour, spicy, and umami. The rice itself is stir-fried to fluffy perfection, ensuring each grain is separate and fully imbued with the kimchi’s essence. Love it so much

For those who are looking some Korean food, is time to visit Gangnam88 now.
