Fun All The Way From Singapore to Penang Awaits You!

June 12, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Ah, it’s that time of the year again. The world is just waiting to be explored, don’t you think? So, what’s your holiday plan? I thought today I’m going to write about travelling, specifically from the land of Merlion to the Pearl of the Orient. Why Singapore to Penang, you ask? Well, Singapore has been that cool place one wants to go visit someday (*cough* Universal Studio *cough*) and Penang holds a lot of aesthetics to it that it is just interesting to know and learn about. Let’s derailed for a bit, when I was getting creative to write this entry, I came across some of the promotions out there, considering it’s holiday season. I mean, like wow! Even Traveloka have some! You might wanna check it out if you guys are planning a trip for this coming holiday~

So, let’s get to it!

Before we fly from Singapore to Penang, let’s see what Singapore has to offer, shall we?

Singapore Visit 101

Universal Studio Singapore

Say it with me, “Universal Studio Singapore is a MUST VISIT, FOR SURE!” If we can’t go to Orlando, we will go Singapore because this place – let me tell you, they have all the cool stuff you will expect from a Universal Studio theme park. Let’s begin with the attractions! Universal Studio has a bunch of rides and shows lined up. The Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs CYLON, TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle and Revenge of the Mummy are some of the rides to look out for. There are plenty of family-friendly rides you can enjoy like Treasure Hunters, Jurassic Park Rapid Adventure and Puss In Boots’ Giant Adventure. It’s all fun and games whether you’re 10 or 40. There are no age limits to endless fun!

Gardens by The Bay

What I can say about this is that this place is not like any other. The gardens are very majestic and it will leave you in awe of the uniqueness you will see. Who knows gardens can be turned into such a grandeur and futuristic place? You will be dazzled by the mixture of lights resonating throughout the gardens. That is why it is best to go there at night. It will look amazing. Apart from that, there are also Children’s Garden where they have waterpark and fun playground your kids will definitely appreciate. The admissions to Children’s Garden are free on that matter and it will be closed at 6:30 PM on weekdays while on weekends and public holiday, the closing time is at 8:30 PM.

Singapore Night Safari

Sometimes, it is fun to step into the wild and look at other magnificent creatures coexisting together with us in this beautiful Mother Earth. I’m going all philosophical on you guys. What better way to spend a great holiday with friends and family than at Singapore Night Safari? You will be one with the wild – but with safety measures implied, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Don’t go being too friendly with the animals though, remember, once we’re in there, we are in their domain and they may be known as cats, but they’re the different kind of cats you want to be petting.

I will say, the list does not end there – of course, not! But, you will be reaching the golden years if I were to list out everything in here. Maybe in another entry! Goodbye, Singapore, hellooo Penang! Let’s see what the Pearl of the Orient has prepared for travellers.

Penang Visit 101

Penang Hill

Penang Hill has one of the most nature-oriented values to it. Here at Penang Hill, you will discover some of the most interesting plant species that you don’t usually see in your backyard like the submontane oak-laurel tree or the coniferous trees. There are also the rare types like the parasitic plant called the Exorhopalia ruficeps and the Paphiopedilum barbatum or normally known as the Penang Slipper Orchid. I’m not gonna lie, these scientific names are such a tongue twister, don’t you think? I think it’s interesting to visit the nature once in a while because we are always surrounded with skyscrapers, cities and cars. It’s good to take a step back and enjoy what nature gives us at the beginning of time.

Escape Adventureland

But then again, a perfect holiday is a well-balanced holiday between nature, culture, and all out fun time! ESCAPE Adventureland is one of the highly talked about among the locals here in Malaysia. It’s the perfect escape for thrill seekers. See what I did there? If you don’t have any fear of heights of a wish to overcome that fear, you can head on down there and spend your day to the max. There are loads of activities they offer like Aerobat, Airbag, Discovery Dig, Atan’s Leap, Gecko Tower, Three Sixty, Tubby Racer, Super Looper, Speed Racer and more. Land activities? Yep, they have it. Air activities? Yep, they have that too. Water activities? Yep, they definitely have it all!

Penang War Museum

Since Penang is one of the historical regions in Malaysia besides from Melaka (which is also a cool place to visit, just putting it out there!), it holds a lot of interesting stories from the past. Even some of the buildings throughout Penang have the historical touch from those days. ONce of the places where you will find a lot of stories to it is the Penang War Museum. The war in Penang is one that should not be forgotten by the next generation. Every war should not be forgotten, of course, it is where lessons are learnt and improvements are made. Penang War was built by the British as a fort back in 1930’s and later on, it was used by Japanese as an execution camp. From weapons to documents, you will get a glimpse of reliving the past when you walk through those walls. Pssst, there were rumours saying the place is haunted. If you are that kind of thrill seekers, maybe it’s a place worth visiting.

And there you have it, just the tip of the iceberg! Trust me, you will discover a whole lot more when you’re there and along the way to those destinations. Singapore and Penang are like the best of both worlds. They have the best fun activities to do, the best cultural site to visit, the best food to taste and definitely the best holiday experience to have.

Have a great day, guys! Let me know what you think of them and share with me other places you might have gone!
