Nam Heong Chicken Rice: The Excellence Award winning restaurant!

March 27, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

One of the Excellence Award winning restaurants for 3 consecutive years in Kuala Lumpur was one of the Chicken Rice shop that is located in Chinatown Kuala Lumpur which has more than 80 years of history; Nam Heong.

Nam Heong which have ONLY two outlets in Klang Valley ( Jalan Sultan & Desa Sri Hartamas) is famed for their chicken rice and roasted pork. With the long history, Nam Heong was started in 1938 by 3 immigrants from Hainan, China. It started as a coffee shop selling Hainanese Coffee, Toast and Eggs. At a later stage, Hainanese Chicken Rice was introduced as an additional dish for the customers to choose from. With the quality and delicious Hainanese Chicken Rice which was prepared, they had ended up to become one of the popular chicken rice in town.

Some of their signature includes the Village Chicken and also the Roasted and White Chicken. Enjoy the delicious velvety texture chicken which is well prepared. The chicken comes awesomely good with the moist texture and the meat is tender and smooth. Enjoy them with their home – made chilly and Ginger Garlic Sauce.

Don’t miss out the crunchy bites of the bbq pork and the char siew here as well. Enjoy this delectable crunchy bites of the meat.

Asam Fish
Sweet Sour Vegetable
Yam Pork

Asides from that,  they do serves a variety of sides to accompany your delicious chicken rice. This includes the Asam Fish, Yam Pork, and many more.
