Focus Point Launches World Sight Day 2017

October 15, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Do you know eyesight is very important? And every year Focus Point really cared about our eyes and this year they had launched the World Sight Day 2017. A CSR Campaign aimed at advocating eye and vision care amidst rising vision impairment and eye problem incidents in the country.
World Sight Day (WSD) is one of the global initiative to raise awareness or preventable blindness and vision impairment. Approximately 285 million people worldwide live with low vision and blindness. All this can be prevented either b early detection of eye problem or having it cured by a treatment or surgery. It can be easily solved with just using apair of glasses.
With this year theme “Mission Vision Count: carries the message that we can beat preventable blindness or vision impairment by providing public with the proper education and useful information as : “Knowledge is Power”
And not jus that, Focus Point campaign was presented with a fresh, colourful and unique manner to make vision count. Many exciting and interactive games such as “ Snap for Vision” Photo Contest was conducted which aimed at enabling all to appreciate the gift of sight in a fun way.
The Creative Academny of Art & Design was invited to help bring the theme “Making Vision Count” to life by creating a 3D eye sculpture to depict the realities of eye care.
The event also held presentation ceremonies to aid two organisations advocating eye care in Mlaaysia. Focus Point also donated 1000 pairs of optical frames to the Lions Club of KL Bukit Kiara and contributed RM 5,000 cash to the Mlaaysian Assocation For the Blind.
For the public, Focus Point made the effort letting the public free eye test where it not just test on the eye power but many more such as pressure on your airs, and many other factor. With this, one can actually understand and look on to their eyes issue during the event.  Thanks to all the effort from the eye care specialist which includes optometrist, ophthalmic nurses, donors and many more.
