Fren-Chinois Pop Up Menu @ Ruyi

September 29, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Ruyi has been my favorite place to go whenever you think of having a nice delicious Chinese Cuisine with a twist. And with James Ho who is the award winning Chef from MIGF and also HAPA awards, one must of course come here to try the dishes by Chef James Ho. And this time, Ruyi introduces with the Pop Up Menu where they brings unique Contemporary Asia with the French and Cantonese Cuisine. This is the collaboration of Chef James Ho together with their Guest Chef Hitoshi Komatsu of Japan.
Aperitif

We started our meal with Chef James Ho Chinese Delights. We had the Soy Glazed Octopus together with the Cauliflower Puree and the Avocado Puree with it. It was topped with the rocket salad and beautifully decorated with some local “biji Selasih”. The Octopus are perfectly prepared and the meat came out moist and juicy. Perfect!
Loved how this is done. The Salmon served together with the Root Celery, and Beet. The fresh cut of salmon was beautifully placed on top with the marinated carrot, parsley, red wine and vinegar. Nice one!
Next, was the Hotate Scallop with Caviar. We enjoyed the hotate scallop and they were sides with the salted egg Salmon Skin which came vindictively good. Everything were perfectly flavoured.

Soup
Sipped the creamy blend of soup. Such a luxurious temptations where the soup comes with the mushroom, potage and foie gras. Fragrantly done.

Plat Principa
We enjoyed the Honey Glazed Cod where the honey glazed cod was being glazed with honey, and sides with the white egg broccoli and truffle oil with it. The cod was simply flavourful and I was impressed with the complete juiciness and flavours of it.
This was the highlight of the night. The fragrantly prepared coffee lamb where the lamb were roasted with coffee. The fragrant of the coffee was perfectly aromatic. It was then cut and served with Chef Signature Sauce. The lamb came with the light coffee hint and the meat was simply tender and juicy.
We also had the Chicken Chiku-Teh where the dish was sided with the cute rice with the mushroom on top and also abalone. Divinely good and I was impressed with the soup which came with the pungent herbal taste in it.
Every meal definitely end with a desserts. And we had the lovely pudding that came with the lemon, and fruits with it. Not too sweet!

The Fren-Chinois PopUp Menu will be available from 3rd October till 10th October 2017 at RM 388 per pax (without wine) and RM 488 per pax (with wine). Book your table now with Ruyi.
