One World Hotel caps off the year by bagging another prestigious award at The 23rd World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2016

December 8, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

The year 2016 ended on a high note for the award-winning One World Hotel Petaling Jaya as the hotel emerged victorious once again walking away with the prestigious ‘World’s Leading Meeting & Conference Hotel’’ title for three consecutive years at The 23rd World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2016. From the formal elegant black-tie regional event in Vietnam to an intrinsically tropical grand final world awards ceremony amidst the magical paradise backdrop in The Maldives, the hotel director, YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Teo Chiang Hong is ever delighted to receiving the much sought after accolade for One World Hotel.

The awards were presented by the Vice President of World Travel Awards, Mr Chris Frost during a glittering event hosted by the luxurious Sun Siyam Iru Fushi in the Maldives witnessed by 250 hospitality leaders from around the world. World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Today, the World Travel Awards brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

Each year World Travel Awards covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognise and celebrate individual and collective successes within each key geographical region.

World Travel Awards Gala Ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries, and international print and broadcast media.

“I am more than ecstatic about winning this award and One World Hotel has achieved a number of milestones this year! Triumphed over fifteen other top-class luxury hotel brands from countries such as the United States, Europe, Singapore, Brazil to the land down under is not just an outstanding accomplishment but also an objective for us to attain, maintain and sustain that world-class status. This prestigious award reflects my entire team, the pillars of One World, that have helped shaped One World Hotel into the dominating entity that it is today,” says Ho Hoy Sum, General Manager of One World Hotel.
