CHINESE NEW YEAR MENUS A SYMBOL OF HARMONY AT QING ZHEN RESTAURANT, NOVOTEL KUALA LUMPUR CITY CENTRE

February 10, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

This Chinese New Year, gather your loved ones for a traditional reunion dinner in an elegant yet familiar atmosphere, Qing Zhen restaurant in Novotel KL. Luxuriate and feast over a choice of three festive set menus set to impress any tastebuds: Wisdom Set Menu RM 1,088.00+ (minimum 10 pax) RM698.00+ (minimum 6 pax), Fortune Menu Set RM 1,288.00+ (minimum 10 pax) RM888.00+ (minimum 6 pax), and Prosperity Set Menu RM1,888.00+ (minimum 10 pax) RM1,388.00 (minimum 6 pax). Also available are the Prosperity Toss “Yee Sang” sets Smoked Duck RM88.00+ (big) RM58+ (small), Lamb and Salmon Yee Sang RM128.00+ (big) RM88.00+ (small), and Smoke Salmon and Abalone Yee Sang RM188.00+ (big) RM168.00+ (small).

Some of the highlights include chef’s own creation steamed pacific cod fish with pan seared sea scallop topped with green ginger sauce & wood fish. The delicate and silky texture of the cod compliments the plump and supple scallops. Another chef creations is the wok-fried lamb loin coated aromatic coffee sauce topped with orange zest shavings. The meat chosen is the tenderest part of the loin (no tenderizer or baking soda added!) which is bathed in a sauce made of coffee and sugar slow cooked until caramelized. Next is the Braised Seafood Soup that consists of fish lips, sea cucumber, dried scallops, fish maw and crab meat, all of which blends well to bring out the robust flavors of seafood that is smooth in consistency. Another crowd favorite if the giant king prawns which is wok fried until skin is crispy. The steamed aromatic buttered rice will fill up any tummy that’s still hungry for more. Wrapped in lotus leaf the savoury rice sprinkled with waxed duck breast meat and cubes of chicken “char siu”. Simply mouth-watering and perfect for any friends or clients who would like to opt for pork-free menu! Lastly finish off scrumptious deep fried crispy “nian kao”, a typical Chinese dessert which batter is Chef Jerry’s homemade recipe, skilfully fried in a way that is not oily but moreish!

More reasons to visit Qing Zhen this upcoming Lunar New Year to rejoice in the festivity and get ready to be spoilt by the team of chefs!
Lunch is served from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm. and dinner from 6:30 pm until 10:30 pm (last order 9.30pm). Please be informed that Qing Zhen Restaurant will be closed for business from 19th – 22nd February 2015.
