Harvey Norman Opens 39th Store in Malaysia: First Ever Solar Powered Store at Kiara Bay

November 7, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Harvey Norman proudly unveils its 39th store in Malaysia, located in the vibrant and fast-growing township of Kiara Bay. The grand opening marks not only another expansion milestone for the brand but also a meaningful step towards sustainable retail — as this is Harvey Norman’s first-ever solar-powered store.

The official opening ceremony was graced by Ms. Bernice Kwok, Managing Director of Harvey Norman Singapore & Malaysia, Mr. Kenneth Aruldoss, Senior Advisor of Harvey Norman Singapore & Malaysia, and Mr. Jonathan Toh, Chief Operating Officer of Harvey Norman Malaysia, alongside Dato’ Sr. Azmar Talib, Chairman of Mega Legacy (M) Sdn Bhd, Mr. Hafizuddin Sulaiman, Officer-in-Charge and Chief Financial Officer of UEM Sunrise Berhad and Director of Mega Legacy (M) Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Yap Suan Chee, Executive Chairman of Melati Ehsan Holdings Berhad and Director of Mega Legacy (M) Sdn Bhd, and Ybhg Datuk Azman Bin Abidin, a special guest courtesy of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Yap Suan Chee.

“Spanning over 43,000 square feet, this solar-powered store is more than just another retail outlet — it’s a place where customers can explore, experience, and engage with the latest in electrical and home appliances, computers and mobile devices, furniture, and bedding — all under one roof in a sustainable manner,” said Bernice Kwok.

Developed by Mega Legacy, a joint venture between UEM Sunrise and Melati Ehsan, Kiara Bay embodies a sustainable urban living concept. With its focus on solar energy integration and open, green spaces, the development aligns seamlessly with Harvey Norman’s sustainability roadmap — setting a new benchmark for environmentally conscious retail in Malaysia.

“Harvey Norman’s presence here brings a distinctive value proposition, delivering a wide range of home and lifestyle products, along with a sustainability-forward ethos from energy-efficient appliances to eco-friendly materials,” said Dato’ Azmar Talib. “This partnership reflects our shared vision to make Kiara Bay a destination where lifestyle and sustainability go hand in hand.”

The new store supports modern, healthy living through energy-efficient appliances, connected fitness devices, ergonomic recliners, and wellness-promoting bedding. Shoppers can also discover the latest in AI-powered laptops, intelligent small appliances, and smart home technologies — all designed to make everyday life smarter, easier, and more sustainable.
