Asylum Coffeehouse: Singapore’s Beloved Café Expands to Bangsar, Malaysia

April 20, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Asylum Coffeehouse, a distinguished name in Singapore’s café scene, has recently unveiled its first Malaysian branch in the vibrant district of Bangsar. Situated on Kemuja Road, this new establishment promises to be a haven for coffee aficionados and casual patrons alike, offering a harmonious blend of signature beverages, delectable treats, and a welcoming ambiance.

At the core of Asylum Coffeehouse’s offerings is the renowned Keluak espresso-based blend. Inspired by the traditional Peranakan dish Buah Keluak, this unique coffee boasts dominant chocolate, nutty, and earthy notes, delivering a rich and memorable experience with every sip.

For those seeking to explore diverse flavors, the Castillo experimental series filter coffee provides an intriguing alternative, showcasing the café’s dedication to coffee craftsmanship.

Culinary Delights

Complementing the beverage selection are indulgent treats such as the chunky-soft New York-style cookies, freshly baked by Penang’s own Kheng Cookies. These cookies strike a delightful balance between texture and sweetness, making them the perfect accompaniment to any coffee. Additionally, exclusive to the Bangsar outlet is the PB&J Latte—a creative fusion of peanut butter milk and jelly jam—catering to local palates while introducing an element of surprise.

Ambiance and Design

The café’s interior is thoughtfully designed to foster interaction and relaxation. With an airy, bright, and cheerful ambiance, the space encourages patrons to engage in conversations with baristas and fellow coffee lovers, embodying the essence of community that Asylum Coffeehouse strives to cultivate.

The minimalist-chic décor, characterized by big windows allowing abundant natural light and Nordic-style furniture, creates a serene environment—a true sanctuary from the bustling city life.

Asylum Coffeehouse’s expansion into Bangsar not only introduces its signature offerings to Malaysia but also enriches the local café landscape with its distinctive blends and community-centric approach. Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or someone seeking a cozy spot to unwind, Asylum Coffeehouse in Bangsar is poised to become a cherished destination for all.
