Waterside Restoration & Bar  @ Solaire Resort Entertainment City

October 4, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

It is indeed a great visit to the  Waterside Restoration & Bar at Solaire Resort, In here, we are offered a tranquil and sophisticated dining experience, marked by the absence of the evening’s usual live performances.

The serene, airy ambiance during the day allowed for a relaxed lunch where the real star was the impeccable cuisine, complemented by the restaurant’s stunning interior design. It was an experience where the food took center stage, and each dish shined.

Green Goddess Salad

We began our meal with the Green Goddess Salad, a vibrant and refreshing starter that set the tone for the culinary delights to follow. The combination of chickpeas, cucumber, and fennel provided a delightful balance of flavors and textures, while the crispy quinoa added a satisfying crunch. The addition of lemon zest and dill brought a bright, herbaceous note that lifted the dish, making each bite a refreshing yet substantial indulgence—ideal for a light midday treat.

Tuna Tartare

Next, we savored the Tuna Tartare, which was a harmonious contrast of flavors and textures. The fresh tuna, delicate and velvety, paired perfectly with the playful bursts of tobiko, adding a pop of excitement to each bite. The accompanying dynamite sauce offered just the right amount of heat, enhancing the dish without overpowering the natural flavors of the tuna. Served with crispy nori rice crackers, this dish combined crunch and creaminess in a way that made it a standout among the starters.

Beef Croquette

We love how this golden-brown, crispy bites were filled with rich, flavorful beef, made even more indulgent by the deep umami flavor of black garlic. The addition of horseradish provided a sharp, peppery kick that cut through the richness of the beef, offering a perfect balance that was both comforting and satisfying.

Chargrilled Cabbage

Surprisingly, the simple Chargrilled Cabbage emerged as one of the highlights of our meal. Elevated with a creative twist, the cabbage was garnished with pistachio mint and curry leaf crumbs, which added layers of flavor and texture. The slight smokiness from the grill, combined with the nuttiness of the pistachios and the fragrant spices, transformed this humble vegetable into a memorable and flavor-packed dish that exceeded expectations.

Fish and Chips

For the main course, we indulged in the Fish and Chips, a classic yet elevated take on a beloved favorite. The beer-battered barramundi was perfectly crisp on the outside, while maintaining a moist and flaky texture inside. The lightness of the batter allowed the delicate flavor of the fish to shine through, and paired with a tangy tatar sauce, it provided a comforting and satisfying dish that was perfect for a leisurely afternoon meal.

The Crab Risoni

The Crab Risoni was another standout, showcasing a delightful blend of rich and fresh flavors. The sweetness of the crab was perfectly complemented by the sharpness of pecorino cheese, while the addition of cavolo nero introduced a slightly bitter note that balanced the richness of the dish. Cherry tomatoes added bursts of brightness, cutting through the creaminess and rounding out a well-balanced, flavorful plate that felt indulgent yet light.

Spiced BBQ Pork Ribs

The Spiced BBQ Pork Ribs offered a mouthwatering and flavorful experience, with tender meat that fell easily off the bone. The BBQ glaze delivered a perfect balance of sweetness and spice, while the pork crackling salad provided a nice crunch and a fresh counterpoint to the smoky, rich ribs. It was a bold, hearty dish that was deeply satisfying for those craving robust flavors.

Beef Tomahawk

However, the showstopper of the meal was undeniably the USDA Beef Tomahawk. This massive steak was cooked to perfection, boasting a tender, juicy medium-rare center with a rich, meaty flavor that was unforgettable. The accompanying mesclun salad provided a fresh, crisp contrast to the richness of the steak, making this a must-try for any meat lover seeking a decadent dining experience.

To complement our mains, we opted for two classic side dishes: Mac & Cheese and Creamed Spinach. The Mac & Cheese was a creamy, cheesy delight with a perfectly crispy top, offering just the right amount of indulgence without feeling too heavy. The Creamed Spinach was smooth and velvety, retaining a slight bite in the spinach, which added texture and kept the dish from becoming too rich. Both sides were comforting and familiar, rounding out the meal beautifully.

The Burnt Basque Cheesecake

The dessert course was the perfect conclusion to our leisurely afternoon meal. The Burnt Basque Cheesecake was a luscious and creamy indulgence, with its slightly caramelized exterior adding depth to the flavor. The accompanying vanilla cream and lemon zest provided a light, citrusy contrast that perfectly balanced the richness of the cheesecake.

The S’mores Tart

The S’mores Tart offered a playful and nostalgic twist on the classic campfire treat. Gooey, toasted marshmallow sat atop a rich chocolate ganache and a buttery graham cracker crust, creating a refined yet comforting dessert. It was a perfect blend of textures and flavors, evoking memories of childhood while delivering a sophisticated and indulgent finale to our meal.

Our afternoon at Waterside Restoration & Bar was nothing short of a culinary journey, where the quiet ambiance allowed us to fully savor the intricate flavors and textures of each dish. While the absence of live music during the day provided a different atmosphere than the evening, it allowed for a more intimate and serene dining experience, where the food truly took center stage. Whether you’re seeking a calm lunch or a vibrant evening filled with music, Waterside delivers a dining experience that is memorable, refined, and delicious in every aspect.
