Jaya Grocer launches first-of-its-kind Private Label range in partnership with Grab Signature Brands

May 15, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Jaya Grocer, one of Malaysia’s leading supermarket chains known for its wide range of quality fresh ingredients and imported goods, is collaborating with Grab Signature Brands to launch Jaya Grocer Private Labels. The new range of exclusive products will feature Malaysia’s best-loved brands beginning with Village Park Nasi Lemak’s renowned Sambal Nasi Lemak.

Adelene Foo, Chief Executive Officer of Jaya Grocer, in launching this highly popular sambal at the Starling Mall outlet here today, said that the collaboration is part of Jaya Grocer’s on-going efforts to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers by offering specialty products they won’t find anywhere else.

“The idea behind Jaya Grocer Private Labels is to bring brands Malaysians know and love right onto our shelves. This not only expands our exclusive product offerings, but also helps to make it more accessible and convenient for Malaysians to enjoy. We planned for over a year to make this happen and we’re excited to finally offer Village Park Nasi Lemak’s Sambal to our customers – making it the first time their sambal will be available on the shelf of any supermarket chain,” she said.

Jaya Grocer Private Labels are carefully curated to meet the taste and quality customers expect by tapping onto Grab Signature Brands, a collection of best-loved restaurant and merchant-partners on Grab. As one of the best-selling nasi lemak on GrabFood, it was all the more fitting to introduce Jaya Grocer Private Labels with this ready-to-eat sambal from Malaysia’s foremost nasi lemak restaurant.

“As a leading mass premium supermarket chain, we want to continue innovate and search for more ways to serve our customers better and introducing Private Labels is a start,” she added.

Gracing the launch was Village Park Nasi Lemak founder Datuk Seri Mohd Shamil Ngoh Abdullah who started the restaurant here in 2002 with his wife, Datin Seri Aishah Chong.

Regulars at the restaurant love the traditional and comforting flavours of Village Park Nasi Lemak’s Sambal which goes well with any noodle or rice, and not nasi lemak alone. Each 225-ml jar retails for RM17.90 and will be available beginning 15 May 2023, exclusively at all Jaya Grocer outlets, both in-store and online through GrabMart.

With every purchase of Village Park Nasi Lemak Sambal, customers can earn GrabRewards points through the Jaya Grocer Membership program powered by Grab. Access to the membership programme is available directly via the Grab mobile app.
