In depth review: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

September 25, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Is MORE than a phone. When Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, we are wow with the latest technology and everything about the phone itself. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is not just a phone on its own and is all about the fashion and the lifestyle.

With the latest addition and niche market for phone right now, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 amazed us with the truly a wow to us.

The Design

The phone brings you with the sturdy feel. This is of course something you want as After all, you don’t want to have a product that feels like it might break apart. Galaxy Z Fold 3 completes with the aluminium frame all around the outside of both and bottom halves of the phone. This brings you a solid feel of the device and they are completed with the metal spine over the hinge that give you a complete security and strong feeling.

Asides the hinge comes smooth and it does not feel loose or wobbly at all. In fact, opening and closing it is so smooth and beautifully done just like a perfect flip phone should be.

Screen

The back cover of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 covered in Gorilla Glass Victus which is more durable than the Gorilla Glass 6. And the inside screen has the “glasstic: flexible plastic display. The screen comes with the 260x 512-pixel 1.9-inch cover screen with the SUPER AMOLED which is four times larger than the previous model.

What I love is the single tab of the screen will show you the time while the double tap with brings up an animated animal to greet you which is something cool to have. You can also swipe left to reveal your notification and you can scroll to go thru. It is really convenient to go thru your message via the screen. Swipe up to change the cover screen brightness or volume. Swipe down to use Samsung Pay. Swipe right to use cover screen widgets for the weather, alarms, a timer, music controls, your daily step count, and your schedule.

That’s not its only function though. There are a host of widgets available to load on the Cover Screen, including things like a weather widget, music controls, your next alarm, voice recorder, and a timer. Just little functions you might want every now and then, but don’t want to have to unlock your phone to get to. It’s very handy.

You can customise the way it looks, by choosing your preferred clock style, and some of those will even let you have your own images as a background wallpaper.

Compact and convenient

With the Flip series it sought to offer a device which you could use as a regular smartphone, but then fold to make it more compact and keep it in your pocket. Making it super portable. Especially for ladies, you can easily keep your phone in your tiny handbag or even slip it in your jeans pocket. They are superbly convenient to keep and handy.

The Camera

The Camera is one of the concerns when I am looking when purchasing a phone. The camera complete with 12MP f1.8 wide and F2.2 ultra-wide-angle cameras on the rear (on the cover screen) and one 10MP F.24 selfie camera on the inside. And in here, Samsung opt for a pair of 12-megapixel sensor and one wide – angle.

Overall, the pictures for the camera are good and the pictures taken are simply beautiful and eye catching too.

These are some of the pictures taken with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

And highlight and what we love is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 able to fold in half making the experience better in taking photo and video recording. With the foldable shape and size, you can put them anywhere to have a snap of your video and it is simply a tripod on its own. This is indeed a great flexibility and with the screen in front it makes selfie photography even better.

As for the image quality; they are good in bright lighting. While the phone doesn’t have a dedicated telephoto zoom camera, you do still get the option to zoom digitally all the way up to 10x. But if you are pushing the zoom length further it starts to look like an oil painting, completely lacking any real detail or sharpness. So, is good to go for the two main focal length and you’ll get a nice shot to share them in social media.

Battery

As for the battery; it is at 3,300 mAH battery. It is perfect for medium to heavy use. I have tried to use it at full charge and I am left with around 30% battery after 8 hours of usage. Overall, I can say is decent but fast charging is indeed impressive.

The Performance

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, Octa-Core Processor, 8GB of RAM, and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. And it runs on Android 11 and Samsung’s OneUI3. Overall, the performance comes really good and fast. I tried playing games, loading pages, using some video editing apps and everything comes simply smooth and good. The overall performance is impressive as well

Overall, I can say Galaxy Z Flip 3 is not just a phone but is a lifestyle and identity too. If you are looking for something different, is time to change to Galaxy Z Flip 3 where they are light, and pocektable smart phone. he Galaxy Z Fold 3 is open for pre-order and is priced starting from RM 3,999.
