Takpe, lah! – A Heartwarming Short Film on Respect and Togetherness

May 3, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

In the blink of an eye, we are now halfway through the holy month of Ramadhan – a significant time Muslims observe as an act of worship to strengthen their faith and self-discipline where they abstain from pleasures, eating or drinking anything during daylight hours.

Growing up in Malaysia, we have all learnt to respect and appreciate our multiracial, multi-religious and multicultural society. We care for and respect each other dearly which is why we try every means to avoid being disrespectful or offensive to one another in any way, especially during Ramadhan.
Despite our differences, we Malaysians have always embraced one another with the utmost kindness, tolerance, respect, and forgiveness. We brush misunderstandings off with a lighthearted “Takpe, lah!”, not taking to heart the trivial matters. While the challenges in Ramadhan may affect us all in different ways, one thing is for sure – we deepen our bonds by being mindful towards our loved ones and their needs during this holy month.
Let us foster an environment of strong friendship and understanding who are observing the month of Ramadhan – whether it is to help them out with a simple task or to offer encouragement and support during this challenging time, look out for one another. The littlest gestures can mean the world to someone, especially during these unprecedented times.
Awan berarak di langit biru,
Burung merpati berlegar-legar,
Kerana kasih kita bertemu,
Semoga persahabatan kita kekal bersinar.
May we find home away from home and comfort in the company we keep. Spread joy in doing good deeds and remain steadfast together in the face of adversity during this holy month and the days to come.
Samsung Malaysia wishes everyone a blessed Ramadhan and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Remember to practice social distancing, stay safe, stay vigilant, and jom, let’s buka puasa together!
