‘KFC CARA KITA’: CELEBRATION OF UNIQUE MALAYSIA

September 11, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

In the season of celebrating national unity, KFC has taken the opportunity to express its love for the country that they’ve called home for 47 years, since its first restaurant opened in 1973. ‘KFC Cara Kita’ campaign is KFC’s love letter to Malaysia.
Collaborating with local street artist, Kenji Chai, known for his vibrant murals both locally and around the world, 3 KFC restaurants now feature his characteristic artwork style on their walls. Each mural is a distinctive piece paying tribute to Malaysia and proudly showcasing the beauty of Malaysia’s unique identity. It represents how Malaysians have played a part in defining KFC as much as the brand has been a part of their lives.
On the inspiration behind the campaign, Chief Marketing Officer of KFC Malaysia, Angelina Villanueva said, “KFC is proud to be part of the social fabric of Malaysia with our 740 restaurants across the country serving Malaysians. This campaign is a celebration of the uniqueness and beauty that each individual brings to the community. Shaping us and making us the people and country we are today. Thus the campaign ‘KFC Cara Kita’.”
Artist Kenji Chai added, “It is my pleasure to work with KFC on this project, being able to creatively express the common and unique traits which we, as Malaysians share with each other. Being born and raised in Sandakan and now living in KL, there are many aspects to my identity as a Malaysian and I’m honoured to be able to share this with the public. I’m glad that KFC is championing this effort and bringing Malaysians together in our own way.”
These insta-worthy art murals can be spotted on the walls of three KFC outlets in Klang Valley namely: 5 Barat, Sea Park and Desa Sri Hartamas. The next time you happen to cuti-cuti Malaysia around these areas, be sure to check them out.
Accompanying Malaysians on their cuti-cuti Malaysia adventures, KFC recently launched their Cheezy Cheezy Malaysia combo, featuring Malaysia’s most loved Cheezy Wedges and a limited time special ‘Add-On’ side of Durian Balls; made with 100% pure premium D24 Durian filling. This promotion is available at all 740 KFC stores nationwide, so while you cuti-cuti Malaysia, there is always a KFC store nearby ready to serve you.
Some interesting KFC stores around the country worth checking out if you happen to be there:
● KFC Greenlane, Penang A heritage building with beautiful Colonial architecture
● KFC Stulang Laut and Tanjung Leman Located by the waterfront. Enjoy the sounds of
waves crashing the shore or watch the beautiful sunset when dining in.
● KFC, Taiping Lake Garden Soak in the natural beauty of lush greenery and scenic views.
● KFC Nilai Square, the first ‘certified green restaurant’ by local and internationally recognised Green Certification.
Watch the exclusive behind-the-scene video of the beautiful murals that celebrates the collision of culture between KFC and Malaysia coming to life on 11th September. The video also puts a spotlight on the brand’s belief that every Malaysian is unique, and they shape the community and brand that we are today: KFC Cara Kita.
