MOON-SHAPED WONDERS AT ZUAN YUAN CHINESE RESTAURANT ONE WORLD HOTEL, PETALING JAYA

August 5, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Mooncakes have always been the staple dish for the Mid-Autumn Festival and this year, Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant of One World Hotel Petaling Jaya is offering 12 types of mooncakes – six baked, five snow skin and one special Teo Chew savoury option.
Purist with a preference for timeless flavours can nosh on varieties like White Lotus Paste, White Lotus Paste with Single or Double Yolk, Red Bean Paste, Pandan Lotus Paste, Supreme Mixed Nuts and Deep Fried Teo Chew Yam Paste with Single Yolk.
A bevy of colourful snow skin selection with flavours such as Red Bean Paste and Pumpkin Seed, White Lotus Paste, Pandan Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk and; Durian Lotus Paste will make a perfect ending to any communal meal.
To quote Chef Jordan Chin Chee Hong, Dim Sum Chef with more than two decades of culinary experience “A good mooncake will not stick to the teeth”. Having travelled to many Asian countries to taste their versions of mooncakes, Chin is adamant that Malaysia’s version is still the best.
This decadent treat is usually eaten in small wedges and generally served with Chinese tea. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, family members will savour it together or before the joyous occasion, it is given away as gifts to treasured relatives, friends and business associates as a way of fostering good relationships.
Priced from RM21.50nett a piece, these enticing creations are available for ala – carte purchase or sets in four, encased in a cake box. For further enquiries or orders, please call Zuan Yuan at 603 7681 1159 or email to [email protected].
