Royal Plaza on Scotts Tops the List as Singapore’s Best Workplace by Great Place to Work® 2019

November 7, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

Royal Plaza on Scotts (RP) is Singapore’s Best Workplace! The hotel has risen through the ranks since the hotel’s first participation in 2016 at sixth place, 2017 at third place, 2018 at second place and finally emerged at the top the list of Medium & Large Organisations this year. The award was presented to the hotel at Great Place to Work Awards 2019 for Singapore.

The Best Workplaces recognises top organisations dedicated to sustaining high-trust cultures for their employees. These workplaces are distinguished by their extraordinary levels of trust, respect, pride, and camaraderie.

Driven by the hotel’s latest brand promise and values aptly called, C.O.L.O.U.R.S, employees are motivated and passionate to deliver their best to colour each guest’s stay. Affectionately called CEOs (Chief Experience Officers), they are empowered to be Creative at work and Own every Opportunity to delight guests with Lovable, Unexpected, Real and Sincere experiences.

By paying attention to matters that are close to the hearts of the CEOs, the hotel has put in place all of these exclusive benefits – Chillax Lounge, Flavours restaurant and 24-hour gym. Clock-in and clockout and medical certificate submissions, are standard industry practices that have been eliminated because the hotel trusts & respects them (it’s part of RP’s EVP)!

RP has open feedback channels directly to the General Manager and immediate actions are taken to address the concerns. This makes a difference for the CEOs as they know that the hotel does not simply listen, their feedback is taken on board for implementation.

It’s not just people practices. The hotel strongly believes that the CEOs are the voice and spirit that make up the brand. RP has continuously refined and enhanced Human Capital best practices over the years and these efforts are recognised by Great Place to Work® as the hotel moves up the rank.

“Our greatest pride lies in knowing that we have created a distinctive, high-trust workplace culture that all CEOs love and are proud of,” said Mr Patrick Fiat, General Manager and CEO of RP.
