October 8, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

OYO Hotels and Homes, the world’s third-largest and fastest-growing chain of leased and franchised hotels, homes & living spaces has announced the launch of its newest category in Malaysia, OYO Home. The hospitality chain aims to extend its offering across the most-loved travel destinations in Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka, Penang, Kedah and Johor in the coming months. OYO Home combines the chain’s existing on-ground operations, hospitality technology, housekeeping skills, revenue management algorithms and distribution prowess to deliver a hassle-free solution to home-owners. It intends to focus on locked and unused homes across top holiday destinations and globally has over 125,000 holiday homes under multiple brands like OYO Home, Belvilla, Danland, Dancenter and Traum-Ferienwohnungen.
Since its foray into Malaysia, OYO has been expanding its presence across the country and recently achieved a significant milestone of growing its chain to 10,000 rooms in 300 hotels across 40+ cities. An OYO can be found across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Kelantan, Kuala Terengganu, Langkawi, Ipoh, Kota Bharu, Johor Bahru, and Malacca among other cities and towns in Malaysia. With OYO Home, the hospitality major offers homeowners in Malaysia a fully-managed service for their second homes, including management of day-to-day operations & guest check-in/check-out fulfilment while maintaining the infrastructure and ensuring discovery by listing them across its strong distribution channels.
In a brief period of time, over 1,000 homeowners in the country have trusted OYO as their preferred choice of home management service. The company currently manages beautiful, fully-managed homes in important hubs like Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, Kedah and Melaka. Commenting on the development, Tan Ming Luk, Country Head – OYO Malaysia, said, ‘’At OYO, we are working towards creating quality and chic living spaces and continuing our journey towards this mission in Malaysia, we are pleased to offer fully-managed homes to travellers. What we are attempting with OYO Home guarantees unique experience for our guests and higher yields for homeowners.  Malaysia offers a huge market opportunity and travellers visiting the country are keen to explore the comforts a fully-managed holiday home. There’s a huge untapped opportunity in this space and we are utilizing our strong capabilities combining design, hospitality, technological expertise, financial acumen and operational capabilities to fully utilize it and make OYO Home the preferred choice of guests.’’
‘’Homeowners in Malaysia have shown great enthusiasm towards OYO Home and we are witnessing a lot of interest among our patrons. Travellers trust our brand and we are already known for pioneering effective solutions tailored to their needs, and OYO Home is designed to do exactly that. We look forward to strengthening our footprint across the country with a diverse portfolio, dedicated team of OYOpreneurs and relentless commitments towards delivering an exceptional customer experience.’’ Ming concluded.
Through an integrated technology system and capabilities ranging across operations, transformation and renovation and onboarding, OYO helps asset owners in increasing the occupancy of their hotels and homes while delivering quality-assured and standardized stay for guests. Every asset owner gets access to OYO’s advanced technology, allowing hotel owners and managers to gain full control in daily operations, reduce costs, achieve staff efficiency and save time.
