The Black Cat Café @ Viva Residency, Sentul : Unique Vegetarian Café to Go For!

September 7, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

The Black Cat Café is much more than your regular vegetarian restaurant. Personally, we are not a big fans of vegetarian dining, but what this place has to offer came as a pleasant surprise to us.

The Black Cat Café is conveniently located between Jalan Ipoh and Sentul and it is not very far from the city at all. It is an extraordinarily cosy café, offering a wide range of Asian as well as Continental dishes. Best of all, their menu is completely vegetarian, healthy and natural. If you are not a fan of onion, garlic or eggs, the café is extremely accommodating and is able to customise any item on the menu to suit your preferences.

One of the highlights on the menu of the Black Cat Café is the Nasi Kerabu (RM 10.90). The beautiful blue colour of the rice is obtained by using blue pea flowers plucked from the café owner’s garden. The rice is accompanied by soy sauce tofu, vegetarian chicken in creamy curry sauce and various other delicious condiments.

We also love their fragrant chicken rice dish which comes complete with vegetarian chicken made from soy

The Pad Thai is definitely another one of our favourite dishes. The slurpy noodles, together with the awesome spicy kick makes the entire dish incredibly multi-dimensional.

Of course, there is always room for dessert. We ended our meal with one of the café’s everpopular vegetarian eggless cakes. We thoroughly enjoyed their moist chocolate cake. It was delicious!

A café wouldn’t be a café without coffee! The Black Cat Café’s Signature Coffee is a definite must-have for an energising buzz. More interestingly, one of their signature juices is their Moringa Fruit Juice (RM 7.90). The Moringa leaf has gained popularity in recent months because of its high levels of antioxidants and its ability to lower blood sugar levels. The combination of the moringa leaf with apple juice was surprisingly refreshing!

Another one of the café’s specials is called The Broski (RM 12). It is a refreshing iced coffee drink, topped with lemon. If you need a quick pick-me-up, this is the drink to have and it gets a double thumbs up from us!

So, if you are looking for a warm, interesting and cosy vegetarian café, The Black Cat Café is indeed a nice place to hang out where you can slowly savour their wonderful food, drinks and desserts while play a board game or selecting one of the many books in their collection for your reading pleasure.
