THE FIRST COOKBOOK BY BERJAYA HOTELS & RESORTS IS NOW AVAILABLE AT MAJOR BOOKSTORES NATIONWIDE.

June 28, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Berjaya Hotels & Resorts (BHR) is pleased to announce that its first cookbook titled ‘Flavours of Berjaya’ is now available at major bookstores nationwide. In the official launch event with BORDERS Malaysia at The Gardens Mall outlet, BHR has announced BORDERS Malaysia as the official bookstore of this tantalising compilation by the top chefs of BHR. These 17 chefs from 14 BHR properties in Malaysia and overseas have contributed their signature recipes to be featured in this 152-page full-colour cookbook. Other than sharing their secret recipes, these chefs also share some foolproof cooking techniques that have been tested and perfected from their years of experience in preparing local favourites and international cuisines for over a million BHR guests yearly.

‘Flavours of Berjaya’ is also a useful source of fundamental cooking methods. From learning how to make a simple appetizer to useful information such as nutritional value, this is one of the must-have cookbooks that food enthusiasts will continue to refer to. Staple dishes such as daging masak hitam, ayam masak ros and gulai tumis are simply satisfying, yet festive enough for a dinner party.
Commenting on the cookbook, Mr Hanley Chew, the Chief Executive Officer of BHR said, “Growing up in a multicultural community in Malaysia has taught me that we can always set aside our differences and embrace food as a common language. It has always been a way to socialise, and I love how it transcends race and ethnicity, connecting people from one culture to another. I have personally tried some of the dishes featured in this cookbook – they are beyond delicious! Each recipe embodies gastronomic excellence and personality of the chef. As these chefs delight my taste buds with their creativity and inspiring culinary journeys, I taste a touch of their warm-heartedness and genuine passion.”

Ms Yau Su Peng, the Director of Retail & Innovation at Berjaya Corporation Berhad who oversees the businesses in the education and marketing sectors also took this opportunity to extend her warm congratulations to BHR, “I heartily congratulate the 17 chefs who have contributed recipes as well as secrets, tips and techniques that all go towards making this cookbook a valuable addition to the everyday chef’s library. We all know how precious a chef’s recipes and secrets are and they have clearly displayed not only selflessness, but also great teamwork, unity and cooperation in ensuring that only the best recipe for a particular dish is featured. Congratulations too, to Berjaya Hotels & Resorts on this inaugural cookbook; a momentous endeavour which will undoubtedly leave a mark in both the cookbook category as well as in the hospitality industry.”

‘Flavours of Berjaya’ is priced at MYR45 and is now available at 14 BHR properties in Malaysia and overseas. These include: Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, ANSA Kuala Lumpur, Berjaya Penang Hotel, Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, Berjaya Langkawi Resort, Berjaya Tioman Resort, The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort, Redang Island Resort, Berjaya Makati Hotel, Berjaya Hotel Colombo, Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino, Berjaya Praslin Resort, Berjaya Eden Park London Hotel and The Castleton Hotel. Interested buyers or cookbook collectors can approach the hotel’s Front Office for purchase.

In addition, ‘Flavours of Berjaya’ is also available at BORDERS IOI Mall, Queensbay Mall, Bangsar Village 2, The Curve, The Gardens Mall, Mesa Mall and PHKL. Other major bookstores such as Kinokuniya and MPH Bookstores nationwide also carry this title. Alternatively, interested readers can purchase the cookbook online at mphonline.com
