The Langham, Hong Kong Teams Up with Cochine to Capture the Floral Scents of Saigon to create a Sweet Blossom Afternoon Tea

February 9, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Bringing a spring-scented sensation from the garden to our plates, The Langham, Hong Kong is partnering with the luxury fragrance brand Cochine to present the Sweet Blossom Afternoon Tea with an enchanting Vietnamese touch.

Founded in 2009, Cochine products are made in Vietnam and France using the finest essential oils extracted from Vietnamese plants, reflecting Saigon’s distinctive blend of oriental charm in a range of soothing candles, diffusers and fragrances. Infused with delightful fresh, floral scents, its latest premium smoothing hand cream collection incorporates various nutrients including vitamin E, apricot kernel oil and natural sodium hyaluronate, which promises effective moisturising while leaving skin nourished with botanical aromas.

The four captivating scents of the new hand cream, have been transformed into bite-sized afternoon tea pastries served at Palm Court, such as the Vietnamese Cassava coconut dacquoise with green jasmine mousse inspired by White Jasmine & Gardenia; Frangipani Canelé with a hint of orange blossom coated with pink chocolate and a blossoming sugar frangipani on top to reflect Frangipani & Neroli; Tuberose & Wild Fig is turned into a Girl with the Tuberose, a choux pastry filled with wild fig and Sicilian lemon compote; rose-shaped pavlova meringue La Rose with cherry mousse filling, rose and mascarpone cream as an innovation from Vietnamese Rose & Delentii. The last sweet treat is a mini Scented Candle of white chocolate and green cardamom mousse, hazelnut gianduja and vanilla, which echoes Cochine’s signature product that carries the hint of Vanille & Tabac Noir.

The savoury treats of the afternoon tea also show a splendid twist of old Saigon as a tribute to the origin of the fragrance brand. Featuring Mini “Bánh Mì” Brioche, a thinly sliced beef roll with shredded carrots, liver pâté, pickles, cucumber sitting on the bread and drizzle with special Vietnamese dressing consisting of lime juice and Thai basil. Another exotic piece is the Slow Cooked Roulade of Organic Chicken on Homemade Pesto Bread, highlighting the blend of sweet chilli sauce and mayonnaise spread between the bread layers.

To celebrate the Spring blossom, every purchase of an afternoon tea set for 2 persons from Friday to Sunday will receive an exclusive Cochine gift set (while supplies last), including an 8ml bottle of Eau de Parfum in Cochine’s floral fragrances, and a hand cream (5ml) in Cochine’s signature scent White Jasmine & Gardenia.*

Guests are also invited to enter the lucky draw for a chance to win the limited edition premium gift box (valued at HK$4,460), including HK$1,000 hotel dining voucher, a 4-wick Cochine scented candle (valued at HK$2,400), 1 bottle of Perrier-Jouët Champagne and more. Simply purchase an afternoon tea for two between 1 March and 1 May 2018, fill in the application form and follow the official Instagram and Facebook pages of The Langham, Hong Kong and Cochine. There will be two rounds of lucky draw on 30 March and 2 May 2018 respectively.

Available from 1 March to 13 May 2018, The Langham Sweet Blossom Afternoon Tea is priced at HK$348 for one person and HK$598 for two persons, subject to a 10 per cent service charge.

The Palm Court lobby lounge serves afternoon tea on weekdays from 3:00 – 5:30 p.m., and on weekends and public holidays in two sittings, from 2:15 – 4:15 p.m., and 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
