6) Manok Pansoh

This is one of the Iban dish, is unique in the sense that its ingredients are cooked in a bamboo. Cut chicken pieces, lemongrass, and tapioca leaves are stuffed into bamboo before it is cooked over an open fire. The dish is prepare during festivals, especially during the Gawai Dayak.

7) Kompiah
Kompiah is a traditional Foochow food/snack. And in Sibu, you can get your kompiah plain or even with stuffing. These crusty baked buns are dense like a bagel but not as chewy. They come either plain or baked with sesame seeds. Kompia are made simply with wheat flour, water, salt and a little baking soda.

Kompiah is actually eaten back then by the soldier in China as they are easy to carry into battle, commissioned these buns to be made. There is a hole in the middle of these buns so that they can be strung together and worn around the neck.

8) Umai 



One of the traditional dish of the Melanau, umai is a marinated fish dish favoured by Mukah folks. And is Mukah, you can easily find umai in their market where these are freshly made cut and prepared. It is said that every family have their own way of making umai ; neverless the main ingridients are the daily catch, onions, chillies, lime and salt. Have them with their local sambal if you want! This dish can be eaten as a main course alongside sago, which substitute rice

9) Sarawak layer cake or kek lapis Sarawak



Sarawak Layered cake or kuih lapis comes with unique patterns of interlaced of tasty layers and variety of flavours. And now they have plentiful of flavours and patterns such as vanilla, chocolate, orange or strawberry flavour or a combination. And in here, the cake is being baked in and brings you with the  firm texture and the layers are fastened together with jam.

10) Ulat Sagu



One of the exotic food in Sarawak and this is one of the signatures for the Melanau and also the Dayaks. This exotic food is said to have various of goodness and one of them includes reduced obesity, and also to make your look fawless after a long time consumption. And these ulat sagu is full of protein as well. You can have them eaten fresh or even cooked.
