CP Malaysia raised resources for local underprivileged communities and orphanages

December 8, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

For the second year in a row, CP Group Malaysia and it’s organising partner, the Royal Thai Embassy of Malaysia has kicked-off the CP Charity Fund Run 2016 to raise funds for those less fortunate in the society. As part of CP Group Malaysia’s corporate social responsibility programme, different welfare associations are selected to ensure funding can reach every aspect of the underprivileged community.

The organisations involved this year are Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Miskin Al-Munirah, Rumah Kebajikan Kanak -kanak Cacat Negeri Perak and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim dan Miskin Negeri Sembilan (PENYAKIN NS). Each of these charities received RM10,000 to help them with the daily expenses, maintenance fees and educational amenities for a total of 85 children and 42 handicapped adults.

The CP Charity Fund Run was held in Setia Eco Park, the main venue sponsor, at 6am on Sunday, 4th December. There were 2 categories; 8km trail run for 13 years and above and 5km fun run for 16 years and above. Every participant received a goodie bag which consists of a CP Charity Fund Run 2016 dry fit t-shirt, a completion medal, a numeric bib and some light refreshments.

The official beverage partner was F&N 100 Plus alongside other co-sponsors such as Kemin Industries Asia Pte Limited, MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd., AM Bank, Life Biopharma Sdn. Bhd., CIMB Bank, Multivac Pte Ltd and RHB Insurance Bhd.

Present to officiate the run were Mr. Pratan Jongpun, President of CP Group Malaysia, Ms. Sirinta Chantapan, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission from the Royal Thai Embassy of Malaysia and Executive Vice President of SP Setia, Datuk Koe Peng Kang.

“We are pleased with the turnout this year and the charitable nature of everyone willing to assist those less fortunate than us as well as promoting clean living and healthy lifestyle and nurture the sense of kinship. We are dedicated in ensuring that safe and nutritious chicken products reach your homes and that everything produced by CP Brand is of exceptional quality, including the activities and roadshows that we plan to do,” said Mr. Pratan Jongpun.

In line with CP’s corporate values which are ‘Benefit to the country, Benefit to the people and Benefit to the company’, CP Group Malaysia believes in being adaptable to change, innovation, integrity and honesty and those principles reflect in their agricultural practices to the food produced and their community outlook.

CP Group Malaysia produces fresh and high-protein chicken and eggs as well as fried chicken, sausages and ready-to-eat meals and as part of their upcoming plans, they seek to emphasise development on green technology and being even more environmentally friendly.

“As part of giving back, we started the CP Charity Fund Run initiative to raise awareness of the plight of the needy and how we can value-add in their lives. We also want to create an environment of family bonding and having fun,” added Mr. Pratan.

A Mannequin Challenge took place before the run started and besides the CP Charity Fund Run, there was a unique activity which attracted the attention of both children and adults. A bag jump with 2 platforms; one at 5.5m and the other more challenging one at 8m with soft and safe landing was set up for anyone keen on taking the leap.

CP Charity Fund Run 2016 had over 1,500 participants and CP Group Malaysia is looking forward to more events as such for the upcoming years ahead.
