EXPERIENCE THE TASTE OF TUSCANY AT PAVILION KUALA LUMPUR

September 18, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, hosted a private tasting preview yesterday for guests and media friends at Azzurro Café, as part of its Journey of Taste campaign. Aptly named ‘Taste of Tuscany’, the Tuscan themed tasting event offered a gourmet experience with a specially curated menu, which highlighted the taste and flavors of the region in Italy. The Taste of Tuscany menu will be made available to public at Azzurro Café, level 2, from 15 to 30 September 2015.

The private affair which was held as part of the Journey of Taste campaign was attended by Ms. Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Dr. Andrea Ambra, Director of Italian Trade Commission in Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration between Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and the Embassy of Italy, and also the Italian Trade Commission, aimed to provide an authentic Tuscan experience for food connoisseurs everywhere.

Truly a one-of-a-kind event, the tasting preview was attended by guests such as Dato’ Rosemarie Wee, Datuk Kelvin Tan, and Dato’ Robert Teo, who sampled a variety of delicious Tuscan cuisine and produce throughout the night.
Ms. Joyce Yap expressed that the Journey of Taste campaign was set up with the vision of allowing shoppers to embark on a full sensory food journey, and the Taste of Tuscany experience is one of them. “Through this collaboration, shoppers now have the opportunity to taste their way through a unique Tuscan-themed menu that is unlike any other. It will be a new and first experience for many, which is one of the unique selling points of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur,” she added.

At the event, Director of Italian Trade Commission in Kuala Lumpur Dr. Andrea Ambra said, “I am very proud to work with Arezzo Chamber of Commerce, the Farmers Association of Tuscany and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to bring ‘The Taste of Tuscany: Amazing Arezzo’ to Kuala Lumpur. More importantly, I am honored to share with you the special menu prepared by two of the best Italian chefs from Tuscany, Chef Sara Barbara Guadagnoli and Chef Antonella Mercurio. The menu is prepared with all original and fresh Italian ingredients imported from Tuscany, so for the first time in Malaysia, our guests will be able to taste the real ‘Cucina Toscana’.”

Guests and media were invited to indulge in an array of delights that were made from the freshest ingredients, flown in from Tuscany, Italy. The specially curated menu which incorporates truffles all the way from the city of Arezzo, east of Tuscany, into a variety of dishes, was clearly a hit with the diners that night.

The two world-class award-winning chefs, Chef Barbara Guadagnoli and Chef Antonella Mercurio who curated the menu, were also in attendance at the event, having flown in specially for the occasion. With their impressive menu featuring various starters, main courses and desserts, diners had the pleasure of savoring canapé platters of baked ricotta cheese with rosemary, tagliatelle truffle, Tuscan cheese, and more.
Held in conjunction with the month-long Journey of Taste campaign, the Taste of Tuscany is just one of the many special events and promotions that will be running throughout the duration of the campaign. From 15 to 30 September, the Taste of Tuscany menu will be open and available to the public, providing all patrons with a one-of-a-kind experience that money can’t buy.

Throughout this period, visitors can visit Journey of Taste and enjoy exclusive promotions and special menus at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. As Citi is the official bank partner in collaboration with Visa, Citi cardholders will enjoy a 20% discount on selected menus and food items, while complimentary food vouchers can be redeemed by collecting Foodtastic Rewards stamps with every RM50 spent on the Citi credit card, or RM80 for non-Citi cardholders, anywhere in the mall.

For more information, shoppers can contact Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s Concierge at 03 2118-8833 or visit the website at www.pavilion-kl.com.
