MID-AUTUMN HANDCRAFTED CREATIONS AT JIANG-NAN CHUN: DELECTABLE FAVORITES AND EXCITING LIMITED EDITION MOONCAKES

July 7, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with exquisite mooncake selections from Four Seasons Hotel Singapore’s chinese restaurant, Jiang-Nan Chun. Led by Chinese Executive Chef Alan Chan and the team, a curated list of traditional mooncake favourites and a handcrafted list of new flavours delight the senses, melding visual and sensorial elements into enticing concoctions for the palate.
The crowning jewel this year is the “SG50 Singapore Sangria” mooncake, a limited edition snowskin mooncake specially created in celebration of the nation’s Golden Jubilee. Infused with the signature Singapore Sangria cocktail that was exclusively concocted for Four Seasons Hotel Singapore by the bar’s creative partner Javier de las Muelas, this mooncake is visually stunning with its red and white exterior embossed with the words “SG50”. The Singapore Sangria has been one of the signature bestselling cocktails at the hotel’s bar – One-Ninety Bar and Terraza by Javier de las Muelas – with its delectable tropical twist on the classic spanish Sangria. Now infused into the mooncake, Snowskin mooncake aficionados will be in for a treat with its beautiful blend of aesthetics and taste.

BAKED SKIN SELECTIONS
Baked skin mooncake and traditional flavor lovers will enjoy Four Seasons’ signature double-yolk “Silver Lotus Paste with Double Yolk and Melon Seeds” and single-yolk “Silver Lotus Paste with Single Yolk and Melon Seeds” mooncakes, as well as its non-yolk version “Silver Lotus Paste with Honey and Pine Nuts”. Best-selling favourites every year, Four Seasons mooncakes are made from premium silver lotus of the highest quality as the lotus is young and fresh, offering a delectably healthy version that will appeal to all ages. Less oil is used in the creation of the silver lotus paste, for a refreshing and light taste.

A new limited edition baked skin offering is the “Charcoal Roasted Oolong Tea” mooncake. Beneath its innocuous exterior is the gentle fragrance of Oolong tea roasted over charcoal fire for an enhanced rich flavour. Another new flavour is the “Milk Tea and Red Dates with Melon Seeds” mooncake which offers a sweet oriental taste with generous portions of red dates that can be seen with each bite. “Vanilla Latte Paste” mooncake is a delectable option for baked skin mooncake lovers with a sweet tooth, while a previous favourite from last year, “Assorted Nuts with Kaffir Lime and BBQ Chicken” provides a savoury and rich option with a burst of flavors.
This year, Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is happy to launch “Four Seasons Medley”, an offering which has four different mooncakes in one box. Each box consists of “Silver Lotus Paste with Double Yolk and Melon Seeds”, “Silver Lotus Paste with Honey and Pine Nuts”, “Charcoal Roasted Oolong Tea” & “Vanilla Latte Paste”, providing a great option for consumers to taste four different varieties of mooncakes at a go.

SNOW SKIN SELECTIONS
The exciting array of new flavors for Four Season Hotel Singapore’s snowskin mooncakes this year will delight many. Besides the limited edition “SG50 Singapore Sangria” snowskin mooncake, Singaporeans will also enjoy the signature “D24 Durian Paste” mooncake, a perennial favourite for lovers of the king of fruits.

Last year, there was resounding success when Hazelnut Royaltine (one of the bestselling cakes from Four Seasons Hotel Singapore which features delicious chocolate with a crunchy praline base) was made into a limited edition snowskin mooncake, and this year it has been curated into a new version “Hazelnut Royaltine and Chendol Paste” that further enhances the flavors within.
Another new flavor is “Mango Paste and Macadamia Nuts” mooncake – refreshing, fruity with just a hint of the surprising crunch of macadamia nuts.
Chocolate lovers will also be intrigued with “Pineapple Paste with Dark Chocolate and Pine Nuts” mooncake, which gives the deep rich notes of the dark chocolate a sweet uplift, thanks to the twangy sweetness of the pineapple paste.

GORGEOUS ORNATE BOX

The stunning new box this year is a visual feast. Designed around the good fortune octagonal symbol, each of the four individual boxes within (for baked skin mooncakes) also feature the same shape and design, and are removable for individual use as well. The box is also customizable with a card insert (for names or logos), and a high quality metallic gold tag that can be removed and used as a keychain.

Call (65) 6831 7220 or email [email protected] for orders, and spend a delectable and beautiful Mid-Autumn festival this year with loved ones!
