CELEBRATE THE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL WITH MOONCAKES AND GIFT BOXES AT MANDARIN ORIENTAL, HONG KONG

One of the major festivals in the Chinese calendar, the Mid-Autumn Festival, is fast approaching. To celebrate this and embrace the tradition, The Mandarin Cake Shop at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong will offer a wide selection of tempting delicacies including mooncakes and gift hampers from 29 July until 27 September 2015. Orders can be collected in person or delivered by the hotel to any address in the city. For early-bird orders until 15 August 2015, every guest purchase of 10 boxes of mooncakes or more will receive a 10% off.

“Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival is an important part of Chinese culture and one that gives families and friends a chance to get together and indulge in this seasonal treat,” says Director of Food and Beverage, Nicolas Dubort. “Our pastry team are once again delighted to be able to offer guests a collection of mooncakes and hampers using the finest quality ingredients, uniquely packaged in our newly designed mooncake gift boxes. Options include a 1-tier 1963 Mandarin Mooncake Hamper that includes not only a selection of mooncakes, Rose Petal Jam, and signature items of The Mandarin Cake Shop but also a bottle of our limited edition Taylor’s 1963 Single Harvest Tawny Port.”

Highlights of the specialty mooncakes include golden or white lotus with egg yolk, red bean paste with egg yolk, mini egg custard mooncakes and more. The 3-tier Mandarin Deluxe Mooncake Hamper will include a bottle of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Champagne, 4 pieces of white lotus mooncakes with egg yolk, a tin of Taste of Legend tea, macadamia nuts dipped in chocolate, dried mushrooms, abalone in tin, candied ginger chocolate, Chinese preserved sausage, caramelised walnuts, and a large jar of home-made X.O. sauce.

Orders are being accepted now for these beautifully packaged, perfectly chosen Mid-Autumn gifts. For purchases over HK$5,000, delivery on Hong Kong Island is complimentary, while for Kowloon and the New Territories delivery is complimentary for purchases over HK$6,000 and HK$7,000 respectively.
