GROOMING CULINARY STARS AT PIZZA HUT

June 6, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Pizza Hut Malaysia organized a pizza-making class at its Kota Damansara outlet recently entertaining 30 less fortunate children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary Kuala Lumpur. The class which was part of Pizza Hut’s Signature Series campaign that is endorsed by Celebrity Chef Nik Michael, was an attempt at sparking interest in the culinary arts within these young minds.
The children arrived as early as 9.00 am and were treated to a delicious breakfast before starting the day. In the fun-focused class, the children were taught how to make pizzas from scratch. With gloves on and aprons donned, it was time to get cooking. The children had the opportunity to pick the ingredients to create their own individual pizzas. They also learned how to knead the pizza dough, pour the sauce and spread various toppings on the pizza. Creativity was encouraged and ultimately it was a whole mess of fun!

The children enjoyed themselves so much learning and interacting with Pizza Hut’s kitchen staff as they showed the children some tricks and tips to making great crunchy pizzas. Many were intrigued at the process which sparked a multitude of questions that the Pizza Hut staff were more than happy to answer. While waiting for their handmade pizzas to bake, the children were further entertained with a colouring contest before sharing a meal of the new delicious Signature Series pizzas with their guardian and the rest of the Pizza Hut team members.

“It has been a fun and educational day for the kids. We’re thankful to Pizza Hut for organizing the class and also to the warm and friendly staff that made the children feel immediately at home,” said Sister Malar Matthews, the guardian of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary, Kuala Lumpur.
“Who knows, one of these children just might be the next celebrity Master Chef!,” she continued humorously.

The afternoon concluded with a prize giving ceremony for the colouring competition, where six winners were chosen. All of the children received goodie bags from Pizza Hut.
