BEIJING ROASTED DUCK RETURNS TO SI CHUAN DOU HUA

February 10, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

From 1 March to 30 April, talented chefs will be crafting elegant ‘Beijing Roasted Duck’ dishes at Si Chuan Dou Hua. Delicately slow-roasted and succulent, the duck skin, bones and meat will be prepared into a variety of dishes of your choice.

Roasted until golden brown with angelica root and star anise as the main spices to enhance its aroma, the crispy duck skin is skilfully carved with skill in front of diners to prepare the customary ‘Duck Skin wrapped in Pancake’. It is then wrapped in a pancake with cucumber, spring onions and sweet sauce.

The duck bones are used to prepare the ‘Duck Bone with Salted Vegetables and Bean Curd Soup’. With a sour and salty taste, this local dish also works as a teaser whilst awaiting the main course to be served.

There are seven ways the duck meat can be prepared. The ‘Wok-fried Duck with Sichuan Spicy Chilli’ is a classic dish found at Si Chuan Dou Hua. Using dried Sichuan chillies which numb the tongue, this will be a dish to remember. The duck meat can also be stir-fried with black pepper. The ‘Stir-fried Duck with Black Pepper Sauce’ is a milder version for the palette of those who do not want their dishes too spicy. For a much toned down experience, the ‘Stir-fried Duck with Ginger and Spring Onions’ is the ideal choice for you.

A very uniquely crafted dish is the ‘Sliced Duck with Mango and Spicy Sauce’. This is an exceptional combination as diners are able to taste the tenderness of the meat while enjoying the sweetness of the mangoes, in an attractive display. The ‘Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles with Duck Meat’ is served with strips of duck meat for those who are partial towards noodles. Another noodles option is the ‘Braised Longevity Noodles with Duck Meat’. This dish comes with wantan noodles topped with sautéed duck slices. The ‘Crispy Fried Noodles with Duck Meat’ comes with duck slices and sauce poured onto the noodles.

The ‘Beijing Roasted Duck’ promotion is priced at RM98 nett per duck. It is available during lunch from 12:00 noon to 2:30pm and during dinner from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.
