RAYS OF PROSPERITY AT BERJAYA TIMES SQUARE TILL 15 FEBRUARY 2014

January 22, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

This Lunar New Year, Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur invites all shoppers to soak up the rays of prosperity during the festivities.

As you journey into the mall, you will be showered by glimmers of dancing lights creating an ambience of wonder. At every turn, the radiance of different motifs will capture your sense of sight as you try to follow its movements.

The source of this wonder is a 32 feet giant lantern that stands majestically at the heart of Ground Floor Central. Inspired by the ancient art of Chinese paper cutting and the traditional revolving lantern, Berjaya Times Square has gone the extra mile to put a modern twist to this tradition with this beautifully crafted giant revolving lantern.

Intricate cuttings of spring blossoms and the revered horse presents an updated feel of the lantern. And as its shade revolves, its rays represent an abundance of prosperity and good fortune to all shoppers, filling the air with strong traditional blessings.

“Berjaya Times Square recognizes the importance of keeping to traditions in this fast-paced modern world that we live in now. By building this giant lantern that strongly resembles the common motifs in ancient Chinese paper cuttings, the younger generation will be able to understand the culture and its significance better,” explains Mr Derek Chin, Chairman of Berjaya Times Square Joint Management Body.

Surrounding the opulent revolving lantern is a sweeping landscape of peonies and cherry blossoms in full bloom that whisks shoppers to a faraway land of Spring. Shoppers who spend this Spring Festival with us can expect a myriad of activities.
