NEW MENU AT MIKAN JAPANESE CUISINE & BISTRO, MAJU JUNCTION MALL

October 3, 2012 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review 1 Comment

A simple and yet a hidden gem along the busy streets, Mikan is one of the restaurant which serves a great Japanese cuisine. The restaurant is well located at Maju Junction which is just opposite Tume Hotels. The restaurant is simply cozy and they served a very nice Japanese cuisine there.

– The Mikan Salada-
– The Mikan Salada-

To start off, we had Mikan Salada which is a simple and refreshing choice of delights. A simple home made salad,  Mikan Salada is bringing up a refreshing temptating taste. The salad are fresh and it is topped with  their home made soury appetizing sauce on it and with the crab stick. The salad is really appetizing and it is indeed a good starter to start off the next dishes.
Price: RM 22.00

–Sashimi Moriawase-

-Sashimi Moriawase-

We then had the Sashimi Moriawase which is all about the fresh choices of fishes and more. This is where you can find Tuna, Salmon, Aji, Hotate, Tako and Shiro Maguro all in one plate. The delights is indeed very lovely and well decorated. All the ingredients are freshly prepared and everything is perfectly made and it is tantalizing our taste buds.
Price: RM 68 (for 2 pax)

–Tuna Steak-
–Tuna Steak-

Tuna Steak is not to be missed here in Mikan where the steak is well grilled and this is where the outer layer was crispy and savory and the inside meat was very juicy. The combination is amazingly delicious when it is being dipped in their chef’s signature sauce. The smoky taste sauce with the tuna meat had made the whole meal perfectly match and we felt that it is never enough.
Price: RM58

We had already fall in love with it when it is served and it is never enough. The Shake Toro Mentai Aburi Sushi had captured our hearts and it stays in our dreams at night too. The fresh toro is served with the Mentai sauce and then the fish is partially grilled topside by a blowtorch. The texture is smooth and juicy fresh in the inside and it melts in the mouth. I am just loving it so much and which to have more.
Price: RM 10/pcs

–Mentai Inaniwa Udon-

Mentai Inaniwa Udon is also a lovely so-called fusion meals you can have in Mikan. The soft silky udon which is cooked and served with mentai sauce is simply delicious. It is well made and with the mentai sauce with it, the overall taste is amazingly lovely and we really love the smooth udon texture with the creamy mentai sauce which comes with squids in it.
Price: RM 32

–Mikan Bento Lunch Box-

If you love to get some bento, Mikan do have its Mikan Bento Lunch Box which is worth for money. We had our bento lunch box which is served with the chicken teriyaki and saba shioyaki. The bento is well made and I am loving the tender teriyaki chicken where the texture is tender inside and the crispy skin. Aside, the saba fish is also very fresh and tantalizing my taste-buds  The Bento Lunch Box comes with a soup, rice as well as a salad together with it too.
Price: RM20/24

We also ordered a chawanmushi to try and I love the Chawanmushi so much where the enjoy them too. The smooth texture of the chawanmushi is delicious as well.

Not least, we had a garlic fried rice which is well cooked.
