MOONCAKE AT ZUAN YUAN, ONE WORLD HOTEL

September 6, 2012 by StrawberrY Gal

The Mid-Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival which falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month is one of the important festivals observed by Chinese all over the world.Celebrate this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival with a stellar ensemble of traditional oven-baked and snow skin mooncakes packed with delightful flavours and fillings from Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant.

The restaurant is well located with the classy looked and this year, Zuan Yuan come out with the varierty of mooncakes to cater for the Mid Autumn Festival. There are a variety of 10 choices of mooncakes selling in Zuan Yuan at the reasonable price. We tried the some of the best seller of mooncakes and also the new choices from the Zuan Yuan for this upcoming Mid Autumn Festival.

We had the White Lotus Paste with single Yolk (钻苑单黄白莲蓉月饼) where the traditional mooncake with light sweetness. The mooncake which is being served are well made which is not too sweet with the yolk in the middle is making the overall taste of the mooncake very lovely.
Price: RM 20.00

Next is Supreme Mixed Nuts (钻苑伍仁月饼 ) is one of the best selling items there. It is served with the winter melons and lots of nuts with it. For nuts lover, you would fall in love with the cruncy nutty mooncakes.
Price: RM 21.00

Sweetened Red Bean and Green Tea Paste (钻苑蜜豆绿茶月饼 ) is a definate lovely mooncakes I love. The delectable sweet taste of the green tea combine with the sticky red bean in between is certainly lovely especially with the green tea taste with it.I am just loving the green tea taste and I am totally fall in love with it.
Price: RM 20.00

White Coffee Lotus Paste with Walnut (钻苑核桃白咖啡月饼) is one of my favorites as the mooncake is very flavorful with the decent fragrant white coffee taste with it. The taste of it which melts in the mouth withh the coffee taste blended in it is really irrestible.
Price:RM 20.00

Not to forget is the awesome Mini Snow Skin Mooncake. The snowskin mooncake is made from the “QQ powder” imported from Taiwan. The taste of the Mini Snowskin Mooncake is alike having mochi rather than mooncakes which appears to be special to me. There are 4 flavors- Honey Dew Paste (钻苑迷你冰皮蜜瓜月饼(青色)), Orange Flavour (钻苑迷你冰皮香橙月饼(橙色), Coffee Flavour and Black Sesame Flavour (钻苑迷你黑芝麻月饼(黑色)).

Honey Dew Paste (钻苑迷你冰皮蜜瓜月饼(青色) is one of my favorites as the first bite of it feels like having chewing gums. The texture of the honey dew paste was so smooth and it’s taste is sweet and I just simply fall in love with the chewy fragrant paste which I could finish the whole mooncake. Aside, the price of the mooncake is simply affordable.
Price: RM 10.00

Alongside, we also sampled the Orange Flavour (钻苑迷你冰皮香橙月饼(橙色) where the flavors are from the orange juice itself. You can smell the frangrant of the orange flavors and the bites of it is simply lovely and I could say girls will be loving it.
Price: RM 10.00

Not to forget is the Black Sesame Flavour (钻苑迷你黑芝麻月饼(黑色)) where the black sesame taste is thick and the flavorful. The smells of the black sesame is very pure and thick which is really a great to set to thrill my tastebuds.
Price: RM 10.00

The mooncakes are available in beautiful gift boxes of four or eight pieces from 1 July to30 September 2012.
