HERBS & SPICES, SRI PETALING

Western, Local, Western, Local? I could not decide too when comes to meals sometimes whether to have local or western. The Herbs & Spices Restaurant in Sri Petaling can be a choice of meals here where they have a variety of western as well as local dishes available there. The restaurant is well designed and having a comfortable ambiance in the shop itself.

We had started our meals with their recommended delights which is the Hainanese Chicken Chop where the chicken meat is tender and it is then battered and deep fried till golden brown. The chicken is simply crispy and crunchy in the outside while the meat is smooth and tender. It is then being drizzled with their home-made speciality Hainanese Sauce which comes with onions and green peas on it. It is also being served with the served with French Fries and coleslaw.

Love something spicy? You may try their Black Pepper Chicken Chop where the chicken is being marinated and nicely grilled. It is then topped with the freshly made black pepper sauce on top with the French Fries and coleslaw with it.
Price: RM 15.90

Next comes the Brasied lamb shank is another dish which is the next dish being served. The portion was rather a big one. The meat is soft and succulent and it is drenched with the chef’s special gravy into it. The lamb shank is rich is the herb gravy and it is served with mashed potato & vegetables
Price: RM26.50

Another speciality which is being served there is the Grilled Rib Eye Steak. The rib eye is originated from Australia or New Zealand and it is being grilled till perfectionist. It is then beingserved with mushroom sauce, French fries & vegetables.
Price: RM28.80

Grilled Sirloin Steak is another one item which is being served on our yable. The Australian/ New Zealand Sirloin is being grilled and it is then being served with the mushroom sauce as well as French Fries and Vegetables.
Price: RM26.50

Aside, they also have some mix and match as well. The Mixed Grill is a platter which is served with the portion Grilled Lamb Shoulder, Grilled Chicken Chop, Fish Fillet, Jumbo Sausage, 3 prawns with a side of potato salad. The portion is good to share and you can have a various combination of the grills.

Grilled Salmon is one of my favorites being a fish lover. The Norwegian fish is fresh as well as it lightly seasoned and being grilled. It is then being served with tartar sauce, vegetables & French fries.
Price: RM19.00

Nasi Dagang Ayam Goreng is something not to be missed as well where it is being prepared by an experienced Kelantanese chef. Kelantan famous nasi dagang is being served with the variety of the brown rice which is being steamed with the coconut milk and herbs with it. It is then being accompanied with the boneless Ayam Goreng which is being marinated and some sweet sambal, acar and a hard-boiled egg.

Nasi Dagang Ikan Tongkol (Tuna) is where the Nasi Dagang is served with the Gulai Ikan Tongkol which is the Tuna Curry and with the condiments like the sambal, boiled egg and acar.
Price: RM9.50

If you love Beef, you may order the Nasi Dagang with Beef Rendang.
Price: RM 12.00

One of the specialities of the shop which is also the seasonal item is the Curry Fish Head. The chef/ owner insist on using the New Zealand Ling fish head for the curry fish head. This is where the fish head is being cooked in rich curry gravy with the vegetables with it which includes lady fingers, brinjal, long bean, tomato and taufu pok as well.
The fish head is simply fresh and the taste is nice without any fishy taste on it too. Well made curry which I simply fall in love with it.

Mee Mamak ended our main course where the yellow noodles is being fried in the traditional way with the black soya sauce, vegetables and beancurd.

Phew, that was plenty of mains, wasn’t it? We’re not done yet where we are not going for desserts. One of the item will be the Sago Melaka where the Sago was being served with gula melaka and coconut milk. It is indeed one of my favorites where the taste is good and not too sweet though. The portion is good for one and the sago taste good as it melts in my mouth

We also have the Apple Pie Ala Mode where the apple pie is served with a scope of ice creams. The apple pie which is serves is not too sweet and It is well done too.

English Trifle is an English dessers which is where the English Desserts which is being topped with cream and maraschino cherry
Price: RM 6.50

Cream Caramel is where the egg custard caramel is being made in-house and the taste is well made which is not too sweet. It is then served with mixed fruit together with it.
Price: RM 5.50

Honey Lemon – RM3.50

Ice Lychee Frizz – RM3.50

Hot Boh Teh Tarik – RM2.50
