Wonderland Restaurant Buffet, KOMTAR

June 23, 2010 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review Leave a Comment

The Wonderland Restaurant located at the 11th floor in KOMTAR not just served on occasion like wedding dinner but now they had surprised the town with an extremely cheap buffet deal.
This is my first visit there with my parents which had surprised me.

The buffet here is real simple buffet which is mainly dedicated for food lovers. Food are not really much where there have those simple menu like fried rice, steam chicken, vegetables, taufu and many more. The food here is more alike economy food deal from the coffee shop.

They also have Penang Laksa, Curry Mee, a slight of Thai delights, popiah and more which you need to DIY. All the ingredients are placed on the table and you serve yourself with the portion you love too.

As for drinks and desserts, they served with the local kuih. Coffee, tea and syrups are also free-flow for customers. Aside, they have ice kachang, and some Chinese cooling drinks like leong fan, longan drink, and more.

For those big eaters with budget, perhaps this is a good place to dine. Cheap meal but on the taste is not really delighting as those 5 star hotel (Rasa Sayang or E&O Hotel) dine. The buffet starts around 11.30 am – 2.00 pm

Taste: 2/5
Price: RM 13/person (Promotion : 2 person free 1 person on next visit)
Food Type: Non-Halal
Payment Options: Cash & Credit Card

Address:
11th Floor, KOMTAR WONDERLAND,
Penang

Open: 11:30 am – 2.00 pm

It has been years since I last step foot onto that restaurant and it looked as though the food quality is still the same… haha! I rather go Thai Porntip in Pulau Tikus for my cheap buffet. RM10.90 weekdays/RM12.90 weekends

This I remember with a certain fondness.
We were students in Penang back then, and the sight of a buffet for RM10 (that was the price back then) was enticing to say the least. Plus there were so many people there, mostly aunties and uncles, that the ambience was fantastic.

Foodwise … hehe, what to expect?

Haha.. Not to expects specially delicious but just to say to make our tummy full. As students, we don't have much $$$ compare now after working.
