SUCHAN, PETALING JAYA: THE AWARD-WINNING SPECIALTY CAKE

April 26, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Su Chan is never a no for me whenever I am craving for cakes. Being 20 years in the industry; Su Chan has her name across KL and Klang Valley with their delicious tiramisu, as well as other cakes. Recently, Su Chan had moved over to another new place in Petaling Jaya where you can spoted them within the row just in front of MBPJ, next to Guardian pharmacy.

Su Chan is well renovated with the brown wooden flooring, as well as variety of paintings and ornaments in the restaurant itself. The beautiful cosy environment is just perfect to have dining there. Not only serving cakes, they have their meals menu which comes with the vast variety of choices from Western and Asian choices.

Started with the Meditteranean Chicken Steak (RM21.80); the pan seared chicken steak is well cooked till perfectionist leaving a moist and juicy meat in it. It is then drenched with the brown sauce with the dried apricots, prunes, capers and olives into it. Complete with the juiciness and the sweet sourish blend in it; the dish is simply my favorites of all. It is then being served together with the mashed potatoes.

Vietnamese beef Nooodle (RM9.80) is such a comfort food to have. The hearty bowl of rice noodles is being served with the beef stocks in it. The hearty bowl of noodles brings up the light and robust flavour which is loaded in the soup itself.

Thai Laksa (RM9.90) comes next which is another signature of SuChan. The Thai Laksa here is not much my favorite as it give us a mild taste of the usual laksa we usually had. The asam laksa comes to be milder version.

Olio Oglio (RM17.80) in Suchan give us a kick with the generous amount of chilli flakes as well as the oliveoil in it. Cooked al-dente, the aglio olio is perfectly done with not just giving you a kick of spiciness but it comes with the generous amount of seafood that comes with it. Simply delicious.

If you love to get some creamy delights, the Creamy Chicken (RM16.80) bring us with the buttery taste and it is gracefully presentedwith the al-dente spaghetti. Not just that, it give us a buttery taste but it’s taste is juts perfect at the right level giving us a delicious blend of delights.

One of the highlights is Su Chan is the Tiramisu. In here the Tiramisu comes wells with adding the coffee syrup soaked victorian sponge sandwiched with cheese and bittersweet chocolate slices, topped with almond pralines. It is well served together with the strawberry sauce together with it. The sinfully addictive Tiramisu is never a no for me and it landed to be my favorites since I first started tasted them, I am totally indulge with it.

Well, we also tasted the Explosion, it is such an interesting name which had captured my heart to try them. It comes with the Chocolate meringues layered with chunky hazenuts and chocolate chips fresh cream mixture in between. The delicious cake which is filled with a crispy bite and melts in the mouth textures is just divine.

Japonaise comes pretty unique too. Consist of almond meringue layers with chocolate ganache and fresh whipped cream; the cake gives us a spongy and crispy concoction. It is just a perfect delight to enjoy here too.

Some filing cake to try off is the Italian cream cake Cake (RM10.90) comes in dens buttermilk cake and bites of walnuts piece and coconut. With the layered of cream of cheese inside, it makes a sweet finish of it and I am totally indulge with it too.
