Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast is bringing back The Big Pink Walk 2026 on Saturday, 10 October 2026, as the hotel aims to raise MYR100,000 for Breast Cancer Support Group (BCSG) Johor Bahru through its PINKTOBER® 2026 campaign.
Under the theme “Stronger Together”, The Big Pink Walk 2026 will once again unite breast cancer survivors, families, supporters and the wider community. The event will serve as the centrepiece of Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast’s broader PINKTOBER® 2026 fundraising campaign.
Building on last year’s participation, Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast aims to welcome more than 500 participants for this year’s 5km walk, which will begin at The Els Club Desaru Coast and conclude at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, with flag-off at 7:00 AM.
PINKTOBER® 2025 raised MYR37,500 for BCSG Johor Bahru through fundraising and community initiatives, while more than 300 participants joined The Big Pink Walk, completing a 4km route across Desaru Coast.
Funds raised through PINKTOBER® 2026 will support BCSG Johor Bahru in its work with breast cancer patients and survivors, including access to subsidised silicone prostheses and mastectomy bras.
The Big Pink Walk will offer a morning focused on awareness, participation and collective action. The programme will also feature a survivor tribute and sharing session, alongside breast health awareness activities.

“Last year’s response to The Big Pink Walk showed the strength of community support for breast cancer patients and survivors. This year, we hope to see even greater participation under the theme ‘Stronger Together’, while encouraging more people to support breast cancer patients and survivors. The walk is also part of our wider PINKTOBER® commitment, through which we aim to raise MYR100,000 for BCSG Johor Bahru over the next 12 months,” said Murray Aitken, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast.
In-person registration is priced at MYR150, while virtual participation is available at MYR120. The virtual option allows supporters in Malaysia and overseas who are unable to attend in Johor to complete their own 5km walk wherever they are. Children below 12 may participate in the physical walk free of charge when accompanied by a registered parent or legal guardian.
All participants will receive an official Big Pink Walk jersey, finisher medal and drawstring bag. Those joining in person will also receive an event bib. Virtual participants maycomplete their 5km anytime from 1 to 31 October 2026.
Extending the effort beyond the walk, PINKTOBER® 2026 fundraising activities began ahead of October with the Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast 2026 Golf Classic. Held from 25 to 27 September 2026 in partnership with The Els Club Desaru Coast, the tournament supported the campaign with MYR125 donated by the hotel for each registered golfer.
Following The Big Pink Walk, the campaign will continue with a charity pickleball clinic and demo activation with Selkirk on 17 and 18 October 2026. Selkirk will contribute coaching and equipment in-kind, with 100% of ticket proceeds contributing to the PINKTOBER® fundraising effort.
Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast will also organise an online silent auction featuring hotel experiences, merchandise and other contributed items, alongside further activities spanning music, community engagement and partner collaborations in support of the campaign’s MYR100,000 fundraising aim.
