Aloft Langkawi Turns Up the Energy with Music-Inspired WXYZ On Tour Beverage Programme

June 6, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

Aloft by Marriott Langkawi Pantai Tengah is giving the island’s nightlife scene a fresh jolt of energy with the launch of its new “WXYZ On Tour” beverage programme, a music-driven cocktail concept designed to blend global inspiration with local flavour.

More than just a new drinks menu, the programme is an extension of Aloft’s identity — youthful, lively and rooted in music culture. At WXYZ Bar, the new line-up takes shape as a curated “setlist” of cocktails and mocktails inspired by iconic artists, regions and cultural touchpoints from across Asia Pacific, reinforcing the brand’s promise of delivering a familiar, spirited experience wherever guests travel.

A Menu Built Like a Playlist

At the heart of the programme is the Greatest Hits collection, a trio of signature cocktails positioned as the high-energy headliners of the menu.

Among them is Déjà Yu, a refreshing crowd-pleaser designed to keep the rhythm going, alongside Paw It Like It’s Hot, a spicier, more playful nod to hip-hop influences. Completing the trio is Spice Up Your Life, a bright and zesty tribute to the pop era, offering the sort of bold flavour profile that matches its confident name.

Together, these drinks function as the anchor of the programme — the “stadium anthems” of the menu, crafted for impact and designed to leave an impression.

Global Spirit, Local Character

Beyond the signature selections, WXYZ On Tour expands into a broader supporting cast of drinks that take inspiration from both international music references and regional identity.

The Supporting Acts include playful creations such as Rum Direction and Ginny in a Bottle, while country-specific cocktails introduce more localised character into the line-up. Among them, Kopi Me Softly stands out as a Malaysian coffee-inspired offering, while Calamansi Me Maybe draws on tropical citrus notes in a nod to Indonesia.

The mocktail selection carries the same sense of wit and personality. Pour Some Milo On Me taps into nostalgic familiarity, while For Whom the Peach Tolls offers a lighter, fruit-forward option for guests seeking a non-alcoholic experience.

This structure gives the menu a wider appeal, catering not only to cocktail enthusiasts but also to travellers and locals drawn to drinks with a story, a sense of place and a touch of theatricality.

Launching with a Festival Mood

To mark the debut of the programme, Aloft Langkawi transformed WXYZ Bar into a mini festival-style space, leaning fully into the music-centred personality of the concept.

Guests were invited to engage with a series of interactive elements, including lucky cat batik painting and DIY music-themed tattoos, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a backstage experience than a conventional drinks launch. A live band performance further reinforced the event’s energy, echoing Aloft’s longstanding commitment to live music as part of the guest experience.

To encourage exploration of the menu, the hotel also introduced the WXYZ On Tour Drink Passport, an interactive concept that allows guests to “travel” through the Asia Pacific region by collecting stamps for every regional cocktail sampled. It is a simple but effective extension of the programme’s travel-meets-music theme, turning each drink into part of a larger journey.

A Guest Shift Adds Bartending Prestige

Adding further depth to the launch was an exclusive Guest Shift featuring Bastien Michaud, Brand Ambassador for Pernod Ricard Malaysia.

Representing a premium spirits portfolio that includes Havana Club, Malfy Gin and The Glenlivet, Michaud brought with him experience shaped by some of the world’s most celebrated cocktail destinations. His appearance added a layer of professional gravitas to the launch, blending technical bartending skill with storytelling and hospitality — an approach that aligns closely with the ethos of the programme itself.

Bottling the Aloft Spirit

According to Shanmugam Thangavelu, General Manager of Aloft by Marriott Langkawi Pantai Tengah, the concept is designed to capture what has always been central to the Aloft brand.

“At Aloft, music is in our DNA. With WXYZ On Tour, we’ve bottled that energy. Every cocktail tells a story of a region and an artist, offering our guests a backstage pass to the best flavours of Asia Pacific.”

That description feels fitting. WXYZ On Tour is less about presenting drinks in a conventional sense and more about creating an atmosphere where music, travel and social energy intersect.

A Fresh Note for Langkawi’s Nightlife Scene

For Langkawi, the launch comes at a time when lifestyle hospitality is playing an increasingly important role in the island’s appeal. As travellers look for experiences that go beyond the expected, concepts like WXYZ On Tour add another layer to the destination’s after-dark offering — one that feels contemporary, approachable and distinctly experience-led.

Now available daily at WXYZ Bar, the menu invites guests to discover a new favourite “track” one sip at a time, whether they arrive as cocktail aficionados, curious travellers or simply those in search of an evening with a little more atmosphere.

With its blend of playful creativity, regional storytelling and music-fuelled energy, Aloft Langkawi’s latest programme offers a reminder that sometimes the best way to explore a place is not only through its scenery, but through the sound, spirit and flavour of the night.
