Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur Presents Hari Raya Open House at Lemon Garden

April 2, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur presents an elegant Hari Raya Open House at Lemon Garden, inviting guests to celebrate the festive season through a refined dining experience inspired by Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage. Available from 21 March to 19 April 2026, the buffet offers a welcoming setting for families, friends, and corporate gatherings to come together over a memorable festive feast.

At the heart of the celebration is Lemon Garden, one of Kuala Lumpur’s most established dining destinations, renowned for its extensive buffet offerings and interactive live cooking stations. The restaurant presents a diverse selection of local and international cuisines, spanning Malay, Indian, Chinese, Italian and Western specialities, alongside sushi and sashimi selections and fresh seafood on ice, delivering both variety and quality in a vibrant dining setting.

The restaurant’s bright, garden-inspired design creates a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, while the alfresco area overlooking the koi pond is transformed into a lively warung-style setting, bringing a nostalgic street-market charm to the festive experience.

The menu is guided by the culinary expertise of Malay Specialty Chef Mohammad Safril, recognised by the National Heritage Department of Malaysia. Drawing on regional influences and time-honoured recipes, the festive spread highlights authentic Malaysian flavours presented with finesse, complemented by the warmth and attentive service of Shangri-La hospitality.

The Hari Raya buffet features a carefully composed selection of signature Malaysian dishes, each celebrating the nation’s diverse culinary heritage and traditional flavours.

Highlights include nasi briyani kambing dan telur, a fragrant spiced rice dish influenced by South Asian traditions, and ayam masak hitam, a classic Malay favourite of chicken slow-cooked in a rich dark soy-based sauce, offering a balanced depth of sweetness and spice.

From the seafood selection, gulai kepah manga muda presents fresh clams gently simmered in a tangy young mango curry, while ikan kerapu berlado, inspired by Minangkabau flavours, features grouper topped with a vibrant chilli relish that enhances its natural sweetness. Completing the selection is daging salai lemak cili api, a Negeri Sembilan speciality of smoked beef cooked in a rich coconut gravy with bird’s eye chillies, delivering a distinctive balance of smokiness and heat.

A rotating menu selection of dishes further enriches the buffet, offering guests a wider exploration of regional flavours. These include ayam percik Kelantan, grilled chicken glazed in spiced coconut sauce, and nasi hujan panas, a fragrant rice dish infused with pandan and aromatic spices. Hearty regional favourites such as gulai kawah daging Kelantan and rendang daging tok showcase slow-cooked depth and richness, while seafood highlights including sambal udang Nusantara and gulai ikan tongkol deliver bold, balanced spice profiles.

Additional dishes such as gulai tulang rawan dengan nangka and kambing masak kuzi further complete the selection with comforting, layered flavours.

The experience extends outdoors to the vibrant warung, where freshly prepared roti jala is served alongside festive staples such as ketupat and lemang with fragrant serunding (spiced meat floss), adding a nostalgic charm to the celebration.

The dessert pavilion offers an indulgent finale with a refined selection of sweet creations, including a silky pandan crème brûlée with a caramelised crust, a bold burnt cheesecake durian showcasing the richness of the fruit, and a fragrant rose cream caramel with a smooth floral finish. A selection of traditional desserts, including ais kacang, cendol, and an assortment of kuih-muih, completes the festive dining experience.
