 This April, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur invites cocktail connoisseurs and curious epicureans to indulge in a rare and refined drinking experience at Arthur’s Bar & Grill, as it unveils a two-night Guest Shift series featuring celebrated mixologists from two of Asia’s most acclaimed bars. Held from 6.00pm to 10.00pm, these exclusive evenings promise a masterclass in contemporary mixology set against the stylish, relaxed backdrop of one of Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic venues.

A Night with Origin Bar, Singapore – 24 April 2025

On 24 April, the spotlight shines on the creative talents of Origin Bar, Singapore – a distinguished name recently honoured in the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 list. Guests will be treated to a lineup of eight meticulously crafted cocktails, spotlighting the elegance of sake and shochu.

At the helm are Aki and Marcu Soh, known for their artistry in blending Japanese ingredients with modern flair. Their curated menu at Arthur’s will showcase premium selections including iichiko Shochu and Kiku Masamune Sake, in a special collaboration with Makoto House. Each cocktail will highlight the duo’s signature style: refined, adventurous, and full of flavour innovation — all inspired by the vibrant spirit of Asia.

An Evening with Volkan Ibil of The Back Room, Manila – 25 April 2025

The journey continues on 25 April with Volkan Ibil, Beverage Manager at The Back Room, Shangri-La The Fort, Manila. A prominent figure in the Philippines’ bar scene, Volkan’s acclaimed cocktail narratives and global inspirations have earned The Back Room a place among Tatler’s Top 20 Bars.

Guests can look forward to four signature creations that tell stories through taste — each crafted with exceptional precision using world-class spirits such as Patrón Silver Tequila, Bacardi 8-Year-Old Rum, Dewar’s 15-Year-Old Whisky, and Bombay Sapphire Gin. Volkan’s creations promise a bold, contemporary edge, transforming every sip into a moment of discovery.

These two exclusive evenings are more than just guest shifts — they are a celebration of cross-cultural creativity, cocktail excellence, and Shangri-La’s legendary hospitality.
